1、MIL-C-81204 (WP) 19 April 1964 MILITARY SPECIFICATION CONTAINER, SHIPPING AND STORAGE MK 311 MOD 1 This specification has been approved by the Bureau of Naval Weapons, Department of the Navy 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope - This specification establishes the requirements for the procurement of one type of reusa

2、ble shipping and storage container for the AQM-37A Target Body. Containers for other Target components are procured under separate specifications. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of the spe

3、cification to the extent specified herein. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 General Requirements 3.1.1 Construction - The Mk 311 Mod 1 Container shall be manufac

6、tured in strict accordance with Bureau of Naval Weapons Data List, DL 1453999, and all documents referenced thereon. 3.1.2 Precedence - In the event of any conflict between applicable documents, the following order of precedence shall be observed: (a) Contract or Purchase Order (b) This specificatio

7、n (c) Applicable drawings of DL 1453999 (d) Referenced documents of DL 1453999 (3) Other applicable documents as referenced in 2.1. 3.1.3 Preproduction samples - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order (see 6.2), preproduction samples of the Container shall be manufactured using the meth

8、ods and procedures proposed for production. The samples will be tested as specified in Section 4 herein for the purpose of determining that, prior to starting production, the contractors production methods are capable of yielding items that comply with the technical requirements of the documents not

9、ed in 3.1.2. 3.2 Performance requirements and product characteristics Containers covered by this specification shall be capable of meeting the following performance requirements and product characteristics. 2 Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without license from I

10、HS-,-,-, MIL-C-81204A 14 m 7779906 0358871 8 W 3.2.1 Rough handling requirements 3.2.1.1 Rotational drop - There shall be no evidence of structural failure, visible damage, or permanent deformation when each corner of the loaded Container base is allowed to fall freely onto a rigid steel or concrete

11、 surface from a height of 18 inches as described in 4.4.1. 3.2.2 Leakage - The container, when closed and sealed with all latches properly secured, shall show an average leakage rate not to exceed an amount equivalent to a pressure drop of 13.5 inches of water in 30 minutes when pressurized and test

12、ed as described in 4.5.3. 3.3 Government-loaned property - The Government will furnish the contractor, on a loan basis, with a dynamically simulated Target Body and two (2) Mk 84 Mod O Handling Bands. This equipment will. be utilized in testing Containers supplied under this specification (see 6.2).

13、 3.4 No data is required by this specification, or by documents referenced in 2.1, unless specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 3.5 Workmanship - Workmanship in the fabrication and assembly of Containers shall be of sufficiently high quality to assure that completed equipment will comply wit

14、h all requirements of this specification. Particular attention shall be paid to plating, bonding, painting, welding, riveting, marking, and free- dom of parts from burrs and sharp edges. The assembled Containers shall be thoroughly clean of all dirt, chips, and other foreign matter, The standards of

15、 workmanship exhibited in any approved preproduction sample, subject to any qualification stated in the Governments notice of approval, shall be deter- minative of the requirements of the contract reIative to work- manship insofar as not specifically covered by applicable specifications. 4. QUALITY

16、ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any

17、 commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government, The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 3 Provided by IHSNot for Resale

18、No reproduction or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-MIL-C-8120qA 19 m 7777906 0358872 T m MIL-C-81204A (WP) 4.2 Classification of inspections - Inspection of the Container shall be classified as follows: (a) Preproduction inspection (see 4.4) (b) Quality conformance inspection (see

19、4.5) 4.3 Sampling 4.3.1 Preproduction sample - A preproduction sample of one (1) Container, manufactured in accordance with 3.1.1 and 3.1.3, shall be subjected to the preproduction tests specified in 4.4. Acceptance of the preproduction sample shall be based on no defects in the sample. Further prod

20、uction of the Container by the supplier, prior to the approval of the preproduction sample, shall be at the suppliers risk, 4.3.2 Quality conformance inspection sampling - The sampling plans and procedures set forth in MIL-STD-105 shall be used in the determination of acceptability of the Containers

21、 inspected as specified in 4.5. 4.3.3 Inspection lot - The number of units in an inspection lot shall be, where practicable, 30 Containers. In no event will ail inspection lot exceed 30 units. 4.4 Preproduction inspection - The preproduction samples, after satisfactorily passing the examinations of

22、4.5.2, shall be subjected to the Rotational Drop Test of 4.4.1. Upon conclusion of the Rotational Drop Test, each preproduction sample shall be subjected to the Leakage Test of 4.5.3. Certified inspection data covering the results of preproduction inspections shall be forwarded to the Bureau of Nava

23、l Weapons, if required 4.4.1 Rotational drop test - Each preproduction sample shall be subjected to the following test. The Container, loaded with a simulated Target Body held in place with Mk 84 Mod O Handling Bands, shall be supported at one corner of its base on a block 6 inches in height, A 12-i

24、nch high block shall be placed under the other corner of the same end of the Container. The lowest point of the opposite end of the Container shall then be raised to a height of 18 inches and allowed to fall freely onto a steel or concrete surface of sufficient mass to absorb the shock without defle

25、ction. This test shall be applied to all four corners of the Container base, Any evidence of structural failure, visible damage, or permanent deformation to the Container shall be cause for rejection of the preproduction samples. Minor dents, scratches, or paint flaking are not cause for rejection.

Each Container

27、 in the sample shall be examined as required by 4.5.2, An AQL of 2.5 per cent for MAJOR Defects and 6.5 per cent for MINOR Defects shall be used. Each Container manufactured shall be subjected to the leakage test of 4.5.3. 4.5.2 Examination - The supplier is responsible for assuring that all require

28、ments of applicable drawings are met. 4i5.3 Leakage test - With the outlet relief valve removed and the hole plugged, the Container shall be pressurized with air to 1.0 2 0.25 PSIG (equals 27.7 5 7.0 inches of water) with measurements beginning at a pressure not less than 20.7 inches of water, the a

29、verage leakage rate shall not exceed an amount equivalent to a pressure drop of 13-5 inches of water in 30 minutes, Correction shall be made as required for the effect of change in temperature of the air in the Container. Care should be taken not to pressurize the Container above 1.25 PSIG, nor to a

30、pply pressure with the Container lid or other removable covers partially secured, To locate leaks, brush all seams, joints, rivets, and gasketed areas with a soap solution. Any evidence of leakage beyond the above stated limits shall be cause for rejection of the Container. Replace outlet relief val

31、ve after test. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1- Preservation - Preservation shall be Level A or C as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A 5.1.1.1 Cleaning - Containers shall be cleaned in accordance with Specification MIL-P-116, Process C-l. 5.1.1.2 Drying - After cleaning, the Containers shall be dri

32、ed i-n accordance with Specification MXL-P-116, Procedure D-1 or D-4 or a combination of both. 5.1.1.3 Preservative application 5.1.1.3.1 Insert 120 units of dessicant, conforming to Specification MIL-D-3464, and secure Container cover. 5.1.2 Level C - Cleaning, drying and preservation shall be in a

33、ccordance with the manufacturers commercial practice. However, all lo

34、ose interior pieces and all latches shall be tightly secured. 5.3 Marking - In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order, Containers shall be marked in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-129. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use - A Container supplied under this specification is intended

35、for use in the shipment, storage and stowage of an AQM-37A Target Body (less Wings, Fins and Canards). To utilize the Container for shipment, storage, or stowage of the AQM-37A Target Body, two (2) Mk 84 Mod O Handling Bands (L C 477247) are required (see 6.3) . 6.2 Ordering data - Procurement docum

36、ents shall (a) Title, number, and date of this specification. (b) Preproduction sample size, if different (c) Activity designated to perform preproduction (d) Name and address of activity which will (e) Desired level of preservation and packaging (f) Preproduction inspection data, if required (see 4

37、.3.1). testing (see 4.1). furnish Government-loaned property (see 3.3). (see 5 and 6.4). (see 3.4 and 4.4). 6.3 The two (2) Handling Bands required to secure the AQM-37A Target Body in the Container may be procured under Specification MIL-B-81205 (WP) .
