REQUIREMENTS First article - Unless otherwise specified, the which has been inspected and has passed the first article inspectio

5、n specified in 4.3 through 4.3.2. Materials and components - The materials and components shall conform to the applicable specifications, standards, and drawings as listed or required herein. Design and construction - The design and construction of the collapsible chest shall conform to 65Al40, shee

6、ts 1 and 2. Workmanship - The collapsible chests shall not contain any spot, stain, foreign matter, or hole. The metal components shall not be misaligned or distorted nor contain any corrosion, scale, pit, dent, crack, nick, burr, sliver, sharp edge, scratch, gouge, or abrasion. The collapsible ches

7、ts shall conform to the quality and grade of product established by this specification. The occurrence of defects shall not exceed the acceptance criteria established herein. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS Responsibility for inspection - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order,

10、f the collapsible chests shall be classified as follows: (a) First article inspection - First article inspection consists of examinations and tests performed on samples which are representativee of the production item after award of a contract to determine that the production item conforms to the re

11、quirements of this specification. (gee 3.1 and 4.3 through 4.3.2). Quality conformance inspection - Quality conformance inspection consists of examintions and tests performed on individual products or lots to determine conformance of the products or lots with the requirements set forth in this speci

12、fication (see 4.4 through 4.4.1.2). 13、or all of the requirements of this specification. 4.3.1 First article samples- - Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practicable oeimproper size location sequence or method of application. Any nonconforming component; any component or component part missing, damaged, or other- wise defective. Ina

14、dequate application of the components such as incomplete closure of any container flap, loose strapping, or inadequate stapling; bulging or distortion of any container. Gross or net weight exceeds the requirement; number per container more or less than specified. 4.5.2 Operation - The operation, of

15、each of the chests, selected as a sample unit from the lot, shall be thoroughly examined to determine the mating and fitting of the component parts by erecting and collapsing the chest. Each chest shall be collapsed and erected as specified in 658140, Sheet 1. The list of defects, Table V, shall be

PREPARATION FOR DELIVER

18、Y 5.1.1 Level A - Each chest shall be collapsed to its smallest The collapsed chest shall dimension in accordance with 658140, Sheet 1. be cushioned between the sides and ends of the collapsed folds with sheets of paperboard conforming to PPP-P-291, Type III, Style 2. Each cushioned chest shall be p

19、ackaged within a snug fitting, ffberboard container con- forming to PPP-B-636, Type CF or SF, Domestic Class, Variety SW, Grade 275, Style OPF. Each container shall be constructed and closed in accordance with the appendix to PPP-B-636, Method II. dimension in accordance with 658140, Sheet 1. be pac

20、kaged to afford the minimum degree of pwmtection necessary to prevent deterioration or damage during shipment under normal environmental conditions and commercial modes of .transportation.
