2、lable for use by all departments and agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION 1.1 Scope. This specification establishes the requirements for the manufacture and inspec- tion of connector assemblies. The test limits in this specification define minimum acceptable capabilitie

3、s. 1.2 following types: Classification. Connector assemblies covered by this specification shall be of the Type I DL67A33F100, Connector Assembly Type II DL67A34F100, Connector Assembly Type III DL67A35D100, Connector Assembly Type IV DL67A37D110, Connector Assembly 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Issue

11、ches shall be actuated. b. A potential of 1000 VDC shall be applied between the center conductor and shield of mating cable number 1 (see Figures 1 through 4) for 10 seconds minimum. Leakage current shall not exceed 0.5 milliampere. 4.6.2.4 Continuity resistance test. The connector assembly shall be

12、 subjected to the continuity resistance test in accordance with MIL-STD-202, Method 307 utilizing a test current of 0.5 (-0, t0.15) amperes. The continuity resistance shall not exceed 0.3 ohm when measured between center conductor to center conductor and shield to shield between the following cables

13、 with the applicable actuator switch(es) closed (see Figures 1 through 4). For this test, the overall length of the mating cables shall be 5 inches (12.70 centimeters) maximum. a. Type I. 1. Type IV, Mating Cables, numbers 1 and 2. 4.6.2.6 Insulation resistance test. The connector assembly shall be subjected to 500 f 50 VDC applied between conductors and ground.

With actuator switch S1 closed and actuator switch S2 op

16、en (see Figure i), the resistance between the center conductors of mating cable number 1 and mating cable number 2 shall be a minimum of 40 megohms with 500 f 50 VDC applied. The test shall be repeated with actuator switch S1 open and actuator switch S2 closed. 4.6.2.6.2 Type II. With actuator switc

17、h S1 open (see Figure 2), the resistance between the center conductors of mating cable number 1 and mating cable number 3 shall be a minimum of 40 megohms with 500 f 50 VDC applied. 4.6.2.5.3 Type 111. With actuator switch S1 open (see Figure 3), the resistance between the center conductors of matin

18、g cable number 1 and mating cable number 2 shall be a minimum of 40 megohms with 500 f 50 VDC applied. 4.6.2.5.4 Type IV. With actuator switch S1 open (see Figure 4), the resistance between the center conductors of mating cable number 1 and mating cable number 2 shall be a minimum of 40 megohms with

19、 500 f 50 VDC applied. 4.6.3 Environmental inspections, The connector assemblies shall be subjected to the follow- ing environmental inspections. Unless otherwise specified, the connector assemblies shall be installed in an applicable test fixture which will allow switch actuation and withstand the

20、applied loads. Upon completion of each environmental inspection, the connector assemblies shall be visually inspected for damage due to exposure to environmental conditions. The connector assemblies shall be in accordance with the drawings listed in the data list for the connector assembly being pro

21、cured. 4.6.3.1 High temperature. The connector assembly shall be subjected to a temperature of 70C (158F) and a relative humidity of less than 15 percent, for 2 hours after stabilization is attained. While still at temperature., the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.3, 4.6.

22、2.4 and 4.6.2.5 as required. Within I 1/2 minutes after cornpletion of testing the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.1 and 4.6.2.2. 4.6.3.2 Low temperature. The connector assembly shall be subjected to a temperature of -56.7OC (-70F) for 2 hours after stabilization is attai

23、ned, While still at temperature, the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.3, 4.6.2.4 and 4.6.2.5 as required. Within 1 1/2 minutes after completion of testing, the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.1 and 4.6.2.2. 4.6.3.3 Humidity. The connector assemb

24、ly shail be subjected to the humidity test of MIL-STD-810, Method 507, Procedure I. The actuator switch(es) shall not be actuated during the test and ali mating cables except cable number 1 shall be attached. At the completion of testing, the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6

25、.2.3, 4.6.2.4 and 4.6.2.5, The connector assembly shall then be allowed to dry for a minimum period of 72 hours after which it shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.1 and 4.6.2.2. 4.6.3.4 Sand and dust. The connector assembly shall be subjected to the following sand and dust tests. The applicable

26、 bomb rack shall be utilized when testing in accordance with 4.6.3.4.3. Otherwise, testing shall be as specified in 4.6.3. For tests of 4.6.3, Type IV connector assemblies shall be used with a MER/TER ejector unit and the ejection shall be in a vertical down direction. 4.6.3.4.1 First dusting. The c

27、onnector assembly shall be subjected to the dust test in accordance with MIL-STD-810, Method 510, Procedure I, steps 1 and 4 only. Type IV connector assemblies shall be installed in a centerline ejector unit. The actuator switch(es) shall not be actuated during the test and all 16 Provided by IHSNot

At the completion of testing, the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.1 and 4.6.2.

29、2. The test of 4.6.2.1 shall be repeated a total of three times prior to tests of 4.6.2.2. 4.6.3.4.2 Second dusting. The connector assembly, with the pull test fixture (see Figure 6) installed, shall be resanded in accordance with 4.6.3.4.1 and the tests of 4.6.3.4.1 shall be repeated, 4.6.3.4.3 Fro

30、zen sand. The connector assembly shall be sanded in accordance with 4.6.3.4.1 except at the completion of testing, the unit shall be subjected to the icing test of 4.6.3.7 with the exception of step b. At the completion of testing, while at icing conditions, the item shall be tested in accordance wi

31、th 4.6.2.2. 4.6.3.5 Salt fog. The connector assembly shall be subjected to the salt fog test of MIL-STD-8 10, Method 509, Procedure I. Parts of the connector assembly normally protected when installed on the aircraft shall be adequately protected during the test (see 4.5). The actuator switch(es) sh

32、all not be actuated during the test and all mating cables except cable number 1 (see Figures 1 through 4) shall be attached. The connector assembly shall be allowed to dry for a minimum period of 24 hours after which it shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.3, 4.6.2.4 and 4.6.2.5. At the completi

33、on of 72 hours of drying, the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.1 and 4.6.2.2. 4.6.3.6 Vibration. , 4.6.3.6.1 General. The applicable vibration tests specified herein shall be performed in each of three mutually perpendicular axes in any order. All testing shall be complete

34、d in one axis prior to testing in the next axis. At the conclusion of each test or significant portion thereof, the item shall function as described herein. The test fixture of 4.5f allows up to four connector assemblies to be tested together. Chatter or open circuits of the connector assemblies in

35、excess of the tolerances in 4.6.3.6.2, during vibration from any cause shall be considered a failure. Structural damage to the connector assemblies shall be considered a failure. The procuring activity shall decide when structural damage, if any, is to be considered significant and cause for rejecti

36、on. 4.6.3.6.2 Test item operation. The connector assembly shall be subjected to the following functional checks during vibration: a. The connector assembly shall be monitored during vibration in each axis to determine if the circuitry between the center pins of the MK-39 receptacle and the input ele

37、ctrical connector of the connector assembly is open for more than a total of 3 f 0.3 milliseconds during each 20 f 0.2 millisecond period of vibration when 500 VDC is applied. The voltage shall be applied between the center conductor and the shielding of the mating cable of the input connector (see

38、Figures 1 through 4). The circuit shall be considered open when the output voltage is less than 480 volts at mating cable number 1. The existence of circuit openings exceeding 3 f 0.3 milliseconds shall constitute a failure. The Switch Bounce Test Set (SA-A-20400), or equivalent, shall be used to de

39、termine whether the connector assembly meets the above requirement. The procuring activity shall furnish the test set to the govern- ment approved testing laboratory for use during first article and quality conformance testing. The connector assembly shall be subjected to a 500 VDC test during each axis of vibration, with the actuator switch open or closed. The connector assembly shall withstand ten, 500 f 50 VDC pulses of 5 i 1 second duration, spaced 5

41、k 1 second apart. There shall be no indications of a dead short (leakage current shall be less than 0.5 milliampere). C. At the completion of each axis, the connector assembly shall be tested in accordance with 4.6.2.1,4.6.2.2,4.6.2.3,4.6.2.4 and 4.6.2.5. 4.6.3.6.3 Mounting and control techniques. T

42、he connector assemblies shall be attached to the vibration exciter table by means of the fixture described in 4.5f. Vibration amplitudes and frequencies shall be measured by techniques that will not significantly affect test item input control or response. The transverse motion at the input monitori

43、ng point shall be minimized, and should be limited to 100 percent of the input motion. The vibration control shall be mounted on the top of the fixture cube (refer to DL 101 1AS100), 4.6.3.6.4 Test. The connector assembly shall be vibrated in accordance with the applicable vibration curve of Figures

44、 8 through Il. Vibration duration shalt consist of 1 hour in each axis. The following conditions and tests shall be applied to the connector assembly during each axis, a. For the first 30 minutes of vibration the actuator switch shall be closed. 1, During this time, the connector assembly shall be m

45、onitored for chatter, in accordance with 4.6.3.6.2a for the first 15 minutes. 2. During the remaining 15 minutes of vibration, the test of 4.6.3.6.26 shall be conducted. b. For the last 30 minutes of vibration the actuator switch shall be open. 1. During this time, the connector assembly shall be mo

46、nitored for chatter, in accordance with 4.6.3.6.2a for the first 15 minutes. 2. During the remaining 15 minutes of vibration, the test of 4.6.3.6.2b shall be conducted. In addition, the test of 4.6.2.1 shall be conducted. Only one force measurement shall be made and the puli test fixture shall not b

47、e reinstalled after the measurement. C. At the completion of each vibration axis, the test of 4,6.3.6.2c shall be conducted. 4.6.3.7 icing. The connector assemblies shall be subjected to the icing test as follows: a. The connector assembly shall be installed in its applicable parent bomb rack (see T

48、able IV). Type IV connector assemblies shall be used with a MER/TER ejector unit and the ejection shall be in a vertical down direction. A test store simulating the applicable test store (see Table V) with a MK-122 switch attached, shall be loaded onto the bomb rack and the connector of the MK-122 s

49、witch connected to the MK-39 connector of the connector assembly. For Type I connector assemblies, the actuator switch for the 30-inch (76.20-centimeter) suspension hooks of the parent bomb rack shall be closed during this test, The test store shall be ejected at room ambient conditions, using the cartridges specified in Table V.
