In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, howe

16、ver supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First artide. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order (see 6.21, a first article sample (see 6.3) of 27 cartridges conforming to DL 838AS209 shall be produced using

17、the same procedures and methods proposed for production. The sample shall be tested as specified in 4.2.1 (see table i). 3.2 Rimary components. The ignition charge and the output charge are primary components. Only one lot of each primary component shall be used in a cartridge lot. One primary lot m

18、ay be used in more than one cartridge lot. 3.3 Carbidge production. The cartridges shall be manufactured in accordance with DL 838AS209 and the documents listed thereon. Each production cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.3.1 through 3.3.6 as outlined in table II. 3 Licensed by Information Ha

The cartridges shall then be tested in a dry gas leak tester.

21、Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.3.4. 4.3.5 Insulation resistance test. The insulation resistance between shorted pins, A and B, and the cartridge body shall be measured by applying a potential of 100 i 5 VDC for a minimum of 60 seconds. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3

22、.3.5. 4.3.6 Dielectric strength test. Dielectric strength shall be evaluated by applying 500 VDC for 60 +I: seconds in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-202, Method 301. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.3.6. 4.3.7 Power current test. Power current shall be evaluated by condi

23、tioning the cartridge at + 200 f 5OF for 4 hours minimum and then applying a direct current of not less than 1 ampere supplying a minimum of 1 watt from pin A to pin B for a period of 5 Ti: minutes. The test current shall be regulated to within 2 percent. Each cartridge shall meet the requirement of

24、 3.4.1. 4.3.8 Static bscharge test. Static discharge shall be evaluated by connecting a 500 f 5 percent picofarad capacitor, charged to 25,000 f 500 volts, and a 5,000 f 5 percent ohm resistor, between the shorted pins A and B and the case of the cartridge in a 5 microhenry total inductance series.

25、The series connection shall be maintained for 60 +?: seconds. Each series test shall constitute a separate test. Cartridges shall be conditioned at 70 f 5OF for 4 hours minimum prior to testing. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.4.2. 4.3.9 Stray voltage. Stray voltage shall be evaluate

26、d by applying 100 f 5 milliamperes in 300 10 millisecond pulses at a rate of two pulses per minute for a total of 2,000 pulses. Cartridges shall be conditioned at 70 f 5OF for 4 hours minimum prior to testing. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.4.3. 4.3.10 Vibration test. Vibration shal

27、l be evaluated by mounting cartridges on a plate which duplicates aircraft installation. The vibration tests of 4.3.10.1 and 4.3.10.2 shall be conducted at -65 f 5OF, + 70 5OF, and + 200 f 5OF. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.4.4. 4.3.10.1 Sinusoidal vibration. One sinusoidal sweep s

28、hall be conducted in all three axes at all three temperatures utilizing curve AR of figure 514.2-2 of MIL-STD-81OC. This sweep will define and record resonant frequencies and associated amplification factors. 4.3.10.2 Random vibration. Perform random vibration for one hour in all three axes at the t

29、hree temperatures at the level outlined in figure 1. 33、 conducted by stabilizing cartridges (see o 6.6.1) at -65OF and then holding for 55 minutes. The temperature shall then be raised to + 2OOOF within 5 minutes and maintained for a period of 40 minutes. The temperature shall then be lowered to -65OF within 5 minutes and maintained for a period of 10 m

34、inutes. The change in temperature from -65OF to + 2OOOF and return to -65OF shall constitute one cycle of 105 minutes duration, nominal. The test shall subject the cartridges to 20 cycles. Tolerance for temperatures shall be I 5OF. Tolerance for conditioning times shall be + 5 minutes with the trans

35、ition time a maximum of 5 minutes. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.4.5. 4.3.12 Bailistic tests. Ballistic testing shall be conducted by separating the sample and conditioning the cartridges at -65, + 70, and + 200OF. The cartridge shall be taped, using pressure sensitive tape per PPP

36、-T-60. Type IV, to the 2024 aluminum dent block. Conditioning time shall range between 4 hours minimum and 24 hours maximum. The tolerance for conditioning temperatures shall be i 5OF. The cartridge shall be fired within 5 minutes after removal from the conditioning oven or it shall be reconditioned

37、. The cartridge may be fired in a protective chamber or in a text fixture per Drawing 838AS185 as shown in figure 2, by applying a current of 5.0 amperes at 28 volts to the circuit using pins A and B. 38、ed from the first application of firing current until the first sign of loss of circuit continuity. Each cartridge shall meet the requirements of 3.4.6.1. 4.3.12.2 Indent depth. The witness block material shall be 2024-T351 aluminum. The witness block shall only be used once. The Indent depth shall

39、be measured from the pristine surface area of the witness block to the deepest part of the indent. If a test failure is attributable to an as

40、signable cause, excluding the test cartridges, the original test results shall be discarded and the test reconducted. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 walion, packaging. and packing. Preservation, packaging, and packing shall be Level A and shall be in accordance with 49 CFR 100-199 and NAVSUPINST 4030.28. The cont

41、ractor shall also comply with all applicable transportation regulations. 5.1.1 Level A packaging. Level A preservation and packing (see 6.61, as specified in 5.1.1.1 through 5.1.1.3, shall be used for packaging of all production lot for service use. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purc

42、hase order (see 6.21, the number of inner containers per pack is optional. 5.1.1.1 Inner pack. A conductive rubber shorting device shall be inserted over the cartridge connector pins. A protective cap shall be installed on the output end of the fire extinguisher cartridge. Special preservatives and

43、lubricants shall not be applied to either end. Each cartridge shall be individually sealed in a heat sealed anti-static plastic bag in accordance with MIL-B-81705, Type I or II. 5.1.1.2 Intermediate pack. Four (4) cartridges, packaged in accordance with 5.1.1.1 , shall be tightly packed in a hermeti

44、cally sealed container which meets the requirements of MIL-C-10464, Type 1. Adequate support and cushioning shall be provided for the packaged item. 5.1.1.3 Outer pack. Cartridges packaged in accordance with 5.1.1.1 and 5.1.1.2 shall be packaged in a nailed wood box conforming to PPP-B-621, Class 2,

45、 Style 4 or 4 112 or in a cleated plywood box conforming to PPP-B-601 , Overseas Type, Style A or B. 5.2 Marking. 5.2.1 Special marking. Marking of outer containers shall be in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations 49 CFR 100-1 99. 5.2.2 Normal marking. Unless otherwise specified in the contra

46、ct or purchase order (see 6.21, the marking on the inner, intermediate, and outer containers shall be as specified below.
