The parts and materials used in the control- 3.2.1 Nonstandard parts and material approval. Approval for the use of nonstandard parts shall be obtained b
31、y the contractor in accordance with MIL-STD-965, Procedure I. In the event that
32、the contractor proposes to alter the equipment specified herein and applicable drawings, the following supplemental requirements for the selection of parts and materials are appl i cab1 e. Value 3.2.2.1 Basic conformance. Parts and materials selected for use in the Pod shall conform to the requireme
33、nts of MIL-STD-5400. 3.3 Desiqn and construction. The Pod shall be manufactured in accordance with the drawings and subsidiary specifications listed in Drawing 1064AS4100 and related lists, except insofar as errors of omission or commission on the drawing may be incompatible with the requirements of
34、 this and related specifications. In any case, it is a condition of final acceptance that the Pod manufactured shall meet all the performance requirements of this specification, and such acceptance test documents as may be applicable. Proposed changes, either to correct drawing discrepancies or to e
35、ffect improvements, shall be specifically accepted by the contracting activity prior to their incorporation. 3.3.1 Physical characteristics. 3.3.1.1 DescriDtion. The Pod shall consist of three major sections: The forward radome assembly, aft radome assembly, and the casing (center body) assembly. Al

Total weight of the Pod shall be not greater than 690 pounds. 3.3.1.3 Fliqht requirements. The Control-Monitor Set, Guided Weapon AN/AWW-gB shall be in accordance with Drawing 10

40、3.2.1 Operational stabilitv. The Pod shall operate within the required performance, continuously or intermittently, for a period of not less than 100 hours without the necessity for readjustment of any controls which are inaccessible to the operator during normal use. i 3.3.2.2 Operatins life. The P
41、od shall have a total operating life of not less than 300 hours with minimal servicing and replacement of parts. Parts requiring scheduled replacement due to wear during the life of the Pod, and the wearout life of such parts, shall be determined by the contractor. 3.3.2.3 Re1 iabil itv in mean-time
42、-between-failure (MTBF). The Pod shall have a specified mean (operating) time between failures (MTBF) of 50 hours. 3.3.2.4 Time totalizina meter. Input/output terminations to the Pod for primary power, control signals, and audio/video information shall be made through the umbilical connector, AlW1J1, mounted
44、on top of the casing assembly. The connector shall be in accordance with MIL-C-81582/1 part number type M81582/1E03SA and shall mate with the aircraft umbilical connector MIL-C- 81582/2 part number type M81582/02E03PAl. assignment, function, and current/vol tage requirements are specified on Interfa
45、ce Control Drawing 1064AS4101. A receptacle cover assembly in accordance with Drawing 2300287 shall be provided to protect the umbilical connector when the equipment is not in use. 46、ents. No adjustments to the Pod shall be a. required prior to its use with the following exceptions: The lA/C-ZA/C switch on the Transmitter Power Supply must be preset to the desired position. b. The circuit breaker, CB1 must be placed in the ON position. c. The FSK/AUTO modulation switch inside th
47、e Signal-Control Processor (SCP) must be set to the desired modulation method. d. The channel select switch on the Transmitter Power Supply must be set to match the channel of the weapon. e. The Video Cassette Tape Recorder must be loaded with a tape cassette. 3.3.5 Interchanseabil itv. Physical and
48、 functional interchangeability shall exi st for al 1 units and rep1 aceabl e assembl i es, subassembl i es, and parts of Control-Monitor Set, Guided Weapon AN/AWW-gB, in accordance with MIL-STD- 5400. The drawings listed in Drawing 1064AS4100 shall be used as the standard to measure i nterchangeabi
49、1 i ty for the AN/AWW-9B Pod. 3.3.6 Interference control. The generation of electromagnetic inter- ference by the Pod and the vulnerability of the Pod to electromagnetic interference shall be controlled within the limits of MIL-STD-461 for Class IA and Class IB equipment. EM1 testing shall be accomplished under standard conditions specified in 3.3.12 and in accordance with MIL-STD-462 to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of MIL-STD-461. interference control plan shall not be required.
