Conformance inspection shall be as specified intable I and 4.3.1 through 4.3.3.4.3.1 Lot. For the purpose of conformance inspec
14、- tion and test sampling, alot is defin=as all the deck covering of the same type, from a single, uniformbatch, produced and offered for delivery at one time. For the tests specified in4.5, except for voltage, four rolls shall be selected from the sample selected a
18、sspecified in 4.3.2.1, and a piece of sufficient size for testing shall be takenfrom each of these four rolls. If the lot contains less than four rolls, each rollshall be sampled. For the voltage test, the entire area of each sample rollselected in 4.3.2.1 shall be tested as described see 4.6. 10)sa

Each of the sample rolls of the sheet or mattingselected as specified in 4.3.2.1 shall be visually and dimensionally examined toverify compliance with 3.4, 3.5,
21、3.6, 3.17, and 3.18. 24、ecified (see 6.2) , all specimens shallbe conditioned for at least 16 hours at 27 f 4 degrees Celsius (C) before beingtested and the tests shall be performed within this temperature range.4.6.1 Tensile strength. Tensile strength shall be determined in accordancewith ASTM D 412 using die c for prepar
25、ing dumbbell specimens.4.6.2 Immersion test. Three dumbbell rubber specimens of the size specified(See 4.6.1) shall be used. Both sides of the specimen shall be buffed. Thespecimens shall be immersed and tested for tensile strength in accordance withmethod 6121 of FED-sTD-601. The immersion medium s
26、hall be a 20 percent by weightsulfuric acid solution and the immersion temperature shall be 70 t 14C. Afterinunersion, the specimens shall be removed, rinsed lightly with. water at roomtemperature, and blotted lightly with filter paper. The specimens shall then besuspended or placed on a screen a“nd

Th
28、ree dumbbell rubber test specimens of sizespecified (see 4.6.1) shall be subjected to the oxygen bomb aging test inaccordance with method 7111 of FED-sTD-601 and then tested for tensile strength.The aging period shall be for 46 t 1/4 hours.4.6.4 Liqht aging. Three dumbbell rubber test specimens of t
29、he size speci-fied (see 4.6. 1) shall be subjected to light aging in accordance with method 7311of FED-sTD-601 and then tested for tensile strength. The aging method, however,should be modified as follows:Exposure for 25 hours shall be made at 10 percent elongation, using!Ever-Ready Sunshine,S carbo

Ultimate elongationaccordance with ASTM D 412, using die C for preparingthickness shall be as specified (see 3.4)shall be determined indumbbell specimens. Specisnen4.6.6 Permanent set. Permanent set shall be determined in accordancewi

The material shall be tested as described in methodof FED-STD 501. The mandrel diameter shall be O.75-inch normal.2440,in10ss311
34、14.6.10 Voltaqe. The voltage test shall be made on the entire area of everyroll of material offered for test except for the peripheral area within 2 inches ofthe edge. The material shall be tested between electrodes consisting ofrectangular metal sheets, having smoothly rounded edges and corners and
35、 of anyconvenient length. The width shall be such that arcing around the edges of thematerial will not occur. The tests shall be made progressively until the entiretest area of the material (the entire roll) has been covered, 15,000 voltsalternating current (at) being applied for 1 minute at each po
36、sition of theelectrodes. The contact pressure of the electrodes shall be adequate to obtaingood electsode contact with the test specimen.4.6.11 Dielectric strength. Specimens shall be tested to failure in airbetween 2-inch disk electrodes with edges rounded to a radius of 1/4 inch. Thevoltage shall
37、be applied at the rate specified (see 4.6.11.1.4) . The test specimenshall be a tinimum of 1 square foot in area and there shall be a minimum of fivemeasurements made with no two measurements being less than 4 inches apart.4.6.11.1 Test voltage.4.6.11.1.1 Source. The test voltage shall be obtained f
38、rom test equipment,all parts having a capacity of not less than 1/2 kilovoltampere (kVA) per squarefoot of electrode surface. In no case shall the rating of any part of the testapparatus be less than 5 kvA. The frequency of the test voltage shall not exceed65 hertz (Hz) .4.6.11.1.2 Regulation. The m
39、ethod of regulating the test voltage shall beone which does not distort the wavefona of the test voltage from a sine wave.Acceptable methods include:(a) Field regulation of the alternator supplying the tranSfoer.b) Induction type regulator.c) Variable-ratio-transformer type of regulator.(d) Potentio
40、meter type of rheostatic control where the current in theportion of the potentiometer resistance in parallel witn theprimary transformer is at least five times the exciting current ofthe transformer.4.6.11.1.3 Measurement. The test voltage shall be measured by one of thefollowing methods:Provided by

42、he low-tension side of the transformer inconjunction with the ratio of transformation of the transformer,provided that the ratio is definitely known for all testconditions.4.6.11.1.4 plication. The potential shall he applied at a low value andgradually and steadily raised at the rate of 800 to 1,000
43、 volts per second untilthe prescribed testing voltage is reached.4.6.12 Fire resistance. The material shall be tested in accordance withMIL-STD-1623 .4.6.13 Dimensional stability. Stability shall be determined in accordancewith ASTM D 1204. Samples shall be heated to a test temperature of 70 + O.50C

PACKAGING5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirementsas specified in the contract or order (s
