15、on to the contractor (see 6.3). Variation from this specification may appear in the standard sample, in which case the specification shall govern. 3.2. First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.3. 3.3. Material. 3.3.1 Basic

The end extensions of the cummerbund shall be interlined with cloth, cotton, drill, 7.0 ounces per square yard, unbleached, conforming to type I, class 2 of CCC-C-426. As an alternate, cloth, fusible interlining may be used. Woven Kufner style #G35, National style
18、 200 FL or Crown style 241 or equal. 3.3.3 Elastic webbinq. The elastic webbing shall be made of rayon yarn of suitable grade and denier to meet the requirements specified below, and natural or synthetic rubber strands of a suitable gage to meet the requirements specific below. The webbing shall be
19、composed of two ground warps (one face and one back), one elastic warp, and one filling. The ground warps shall weave in a three up and one down order, with one continuous filling so as to produce a right twill effect on the face and back of the fabric. The elastic strands shall weave in such a mann
20、er as to be over all the back picks and under all the face picks. The finished webbing shall conform to the following: Width (inches) 1-1/8 f. 1/16 Weight per linear yd (ounces) 0.96 minimum Total warp 170 minimum Elastic strands 22 minimum Picks per inch 56 minimum The color of the webbing shall be
21、 black, showing good fastness to laundering, wet (dry) cleaning, crocking and perspiration when tested as specified in Table III. 3.3.4 Thread. 3.3.4.1. Silk thread. The silk thread for machine sewing shall conform to type I, ticket No. A, 3-ply of A-A-50196 for all outside seaming and stitching, co

The buckle and slide shall be made of brass or bronze, nickel plated, a
25、nd shall conform to the design and dimensions shown on Figure 1. 3.3.6 Label. Each cummerbund shall be provided with an identification label, conforming to type VI, class 1 of DDD-L-20. The label shall measure not less than 2-1/2 by 1-1/2 inches. The content and format shall be as follows: Nomenclat

Desiqn. The cummerbund shall be the U.S. Marine Corps design shown on Figures 2 through 4, having a
27、 one-piece front, five or six horizontal pleats and fusible interlining, with end extensions, two pockets, a plain two-piece back provided with elastic webbing straps at each end, a clasp type metal buckle at the end of the elastic straps, and metal adjusting slide on each strap. 3.5. Patterns. Stan
28、dard patterns will be furnished to the contractor by the Government. The standard patterns shall not be altered in any way and shall be used only as a guide for cutting the contractors working patterns. The standard patterns provide a 1/4-inch allowance for front and interlining seams and 3/8-inch a
29、llowance for front and lining seams and pockets, unless otherwise specified in Table I. Standard patterns shall show seam allowances and directional lines for cutting, and shall be marked or notched for proper placement and assembly of the component parts. 3.5.1 List of pattern parts. Construction. 3.6.1 Manufacturina requirements, The cummerbunds shall be manufactured in accordance with the operations and the stitch, seam, and stitching types specified in Table I. 3.6.1.1. Operations. The contractor is not r
33、equired to follow the exact sequence of,operations as listed in Table 1,. but all operations specified shall be used to manufacture the cummerbunds. 3.6.1.2. Stitches, seams. and stitchinss. The stitch, seam, and stitching types specified in Table I shall conform to FED-STD-751. Table I indicates th
34、e minimum and maximum number permitted. The number of stitches per inch as specified in 3.6.1.2.1 Tackinq and backstitchinq. Ends of seams and stitching produced with 301 type stitch, when not caught in other seams or stitchings, shall be securely backtacked not less than 1/4 inch, Thread breaks (al

Sew on identification label. Finished appearance. The label shall be properly positioned and sewn to the back of
42、 the cummierbund. a. Position the identification label at the center of the back lining, with the top edge 1 inch from the top edge of the back. Sew the label to the back lining with a single row of stitches 1/16 inch from each edge. Make center front. Finished appearance. All pleats and joining sea
43、ms shall finish smooth and flat without distortions. The seams shall start and finish evenly. The pleats shall finish with the outside folded edge towards the top of the front. a. The front shall be made of one ply of rayon satin material and one ply of interlining material. When the cotton drill in
44、terlining is used, the front shall be pleated first and have side extensions joined before shaping of canvas. When fusible interlining is used, the front shall be fused before pleating.
