2、epartments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers automatic pressure-regulating valves for anti-g suits. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specified in sections 3 and 4 of this specification. This section d

The valve furnished under this specification shall be products that are authorized by the qualifying activity f

13、or listing on the applicable qualified products list before contract or award (see 4.2 and 6.3). 3.2 First article inspection. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.3. 3.3 Materials. Materials shall conform to applicable specifications

14、 and shall be as specified herein and on applicable drawings. Materials which are not covered by specifications, or which are not specifically described herein, shall be of the best quality, of the lightest practicable weight, and qualified for the purpose intended. 3.3.1 Dissimilar metals. Unless p

15、rotected against electrolytic corrosion, dissimilar metals specified in MIL-STD-889 shall not be used in intimate contact with each other. 3.3.2 Nonmetallic materials. Any nonmetallic material that is adversely affected by continued use with air shall not be used. 3.3.2.1 Elastomer components. Elast

16、omer components, except silicon, shall be not greater than 12 months old from the date of manufacture to the date of delivery to any government service or to any airframe or accessory manufacturer. 3.3.3 Protective treatment. Protective coating which might crack, chip, or scale during normal service

17、 life or under extremes of environmental conditions shall not be used. Materials shall be protected from deterioration in a manner that will in no way prevent compliance with the performance requirements of this specification. The deterioration considered is that caused by exposure to environmental

18、conditions. 3.3.4 Standard parts. Military standard parts shall be used where they are specified. 3.4 Design and construction. The design and construction shall be in accordance with the applicable dash number of MS24350, as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). The valve shall be designed t

19、o pass air at a regulated pressure to aircrewmen anti-g suits. The outlet pressure shall be a function of acceleration force applied to the valve in the direction specified on MS24350. The design shall enable manual operation of the valve and shall provide means for applying weights to simulate the

20、acceleration forces specified on figure 1. The valve shall be designed to perform as specified in 3.5. Moisture in the air source to the valve shall not adversely affect operation of the valve. 21、9370E 4 3.4.1 Filter element. If the valve design is a piston type, the valve shall contain a filter, AN6235 or equivalent, positioned so that all inlet air passes through the filter before reaching the piston. 3.4.2 Relief valve. The valve design shall include a pressure relief valve that will reli

22、eve at pressures between 8.7 to 11 psig and shall not allow the suit or outlet pressure to be greater than 11 psig. 3.4.3 Lubrication. The valve shall be designed and constructed in such manner that no lubrication is required. 3.4.4 Inlet screen. The valve shall contain a corrosion-resistant steel,

23、30 by 30, maximum mesh, 0.010 inch minimum wire diameter inlet screen. When tested as specified in 4.6.2, the acceleration force required to open the valve to permit flow greater than 0.01 liter per minute shall be between 1.5g and 2g (see fi

25、gure 1, 6.5.1 and 6.5.2). 3.5.2 Outlet pressure regulation. When tested as specified in 4.6.3, the outlet pressure shall be within the range specified on figure 1 for the acceleration force being applied. When the force is being increased, the outlet pressure shall reach the specified range within 2

26、 seconds after application of the force. When the force is being decreased, the outlet pressure shall reach the specified range within 5 seconds after decreasing the force. The outlet pressure shall not fluctuate greater than + 0.2 inch of mercury at any test point. 3.5.3 Leakage. When tested as spe

27、cified in 4.6.4, the leakage shall be not greater than 0.01 liter per minute. 3.5.4 Anti-chattering. When tested as specified in 4.6.5, the valve shall not chatter. 3.5.5 Response time. When tested as specified in 4.6.6, the outlet pressure shall reach the following specified values within the indic

29、ure exposure. The valve shall pass the high temperature test specified in 4.6.7. 3.5.7 Low temperature exposure. The valve shall pass the low temperature test specified in 4.6.8. 3.5.8 Vibration. The valve shall pass the vibration test specified in 4.6.9. 3.5.9 Endurance. The valve shall pass the en

30、durance test specified in 4.6.10. 3.5.10 Salt fog. The valve shall not corrode excessively when subjected to the salt fog test specified in 4.6.11. 31、hall pass the internal corrosion test specified in 4.6.12. 3.6 Interchangeability. All parts having the same manufacturers part number shall be functionally and dimensionally interchangeable. 3.7 Identification of product. The valves shall be marked for identification in accordance with MIL-STD-130

32、except that the Federal stock number shall be omitted. 3.7.1 Ports. All inlet and outlet ports shall be clearly identified by permanent markings. 3.7.2 Direction of acceleration force. The valves shall be marked with an arrow in accordance with MS24350 denoting the direction the influencing accelera

33、tion force is to be applied. 3.8 Workmanship. The valves shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from irregularities, defects or foreign matter which could adversely affect safety, performance, reliability or durability. 3.9 Package marking. Nomenclature tags shall be inserted in each bag show

34、ing title, part number or other data as required by the procuring activity. In addition, interior and exterior containers shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 3.9.1. Precautionary marking. The following precautionary marking shall appear on each package: CAUTION: DO NOT ALLOW CONTAMINANTS

35、 OF ANY KIND TO BE USED ON OR ABOUT THE VALVES. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of inspection. The examination and testing of the valves shall be classified as follows: a. Qualification inspection (see 4.2). b. First article inspection (see 4.3). c. Conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.2 Qualifica

36、tion inspection. Qualification inspection shall consist of all the examinations and tests of this specification. 37、alves of each MS24350 dash number for which qualification is desired. Samples shall be forwarded to Commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Code 4.6.8.3, 48110 Shaw Road, Bldg. 2187, Patuxent River, MD 20670. The samples shall be plainly identified by securely attached durable tags marked with the fol

38、lowing information: Sample submitted by (name) (date) for qualification inspections in accordance with the requirements of MIL-DTL-9370E and number under authorization (reference authorizing letter and number (see 6.3). 4.3 First article inspection. First article inspection shall consist of the exam

39、inations and tests deemed necessary by the procuring activity. 4.3.1 First article samples. Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practicable after award of a contract or order, the manufacturer shall forward two valves of each MS24350 dash number as instructed in the contract or order (see 6.2). T

40、he samples shall be representative of the construction, workmanship, components, and materials to be used during production. When a contractor is in continuous production of these valves from contract to contract, submission of further first article samples on the new contract may be waived at the d

41、iscretion of the procuring activity. Approval of the first article samples or the waiving of the first article inspection does not preclude the requirements for the performance of conformance inspection. The first article samples shall be plainly identified by securely attached durable tags marked w

42、ith the following information: Sample submitted by (name) (date) for first article inspection in accordance with the requirements of MIL-DTL-9370E under Contract no. _. 4.3.1.1 Disposition of samples. Upon completion of the first article inspection, all the applicable inspection reports and when app

43、licable, recommendations and comments pertinent for use in monitoring production, shall be forwarded to the Government quality control representative. One approved valve shall be returned to the manufacturer for use in monitoring production. The other valve shall be consumed or destroyed in the firs

44、t article inspection and shall not be considered as part of the quantity to be delivered under contract. 4.4 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall consist of performing the examinations and tests listed in table II. 4.4.1 Sampling. 4.4.1.1 Inspection lot. Provided by IHSNot for Resale

An inspection lot size s

49、hall be expressed in units of valves. A lot shall consist of valves manufactured essentially under the same conditions and from the same materials and components. The sample unit shall be one valve. 4.4.1.2 Sample size. The sample size and acceptance criteria shall be as specified in table II. 4.5 Test conditions. 4.5.1 Temperature and pressure. Unless otherwise specif
