SCOPE 1,I Scope. Th

18、gencies.) 2.3 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specifica- tion shall take precedence. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Definitions. For the purpose of this specification, the welding terms and definitions cont

19、ained in AWS A3.0 shall apply. 3.2 Dimensional tolerances. 3.2.1 Length. The length of the electrodes shall be not less than the nominal length. 3.2.2 Diameter. The diameter of the electrodes shall vary not more than plus or minus 5 percent from the nominal diameter. 3.2.3 Thickness and width. For t

20、he rectangular cross-section electrodes, type MIL-CuC-D, the dimensions “a“ (thickness) and “b“ (width) shall not vary more than plus or minus 5 percent from the nominal dimensions. 3.2.4 Straightness. The electrodes shall not deviate more than 1/2 percent of length as measured in 4.3.2.2. 3.2.5 Tap

21、er. 3.2.5.1 Types MIL-C and MIL-CuC-A electrodes other than 1/8 inch diameter shall have one end tapered approximately 30 degrees with the axis of the elec- trode. The diameter of the point shall be 1/16-inch minimum. 3.2.5.2 Type MIL-CuC-C electrode shall have both ends machined to a matching taper

22、 to provide a self-holding joint (electrode to electrode) with sufficiently close tolerance to permit use without stub loss in excess of the performance requirements specified in 3.5.3. 3.3 Copper coating. Coated electrodes shall have a copper coating 0.003 + 0.0015 inch deposited on all surfaces ex

23、cept on the machined joint surfacs of type MIL-CuC-C and the tapered end of type MIL-CuC-A. 3.4 Resistivity. 28、NS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or

29、 any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection require- ments specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specifi- cation where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure suppl

30、ies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 4.2.1 Inspection lotc Sampling for quality conformance inspection. 4.2.1.1 Containers. For the purpose of sampling and inspection of con- tainers, all packaging and packing offered to one consignee for delivery at one time shall be considered

31、a lot. 4.2.1.2 Electrodes. For the purpose of sampling and inspection, all electrodes of one type and size produced from one batch mix and offered for delivery at one time shall be considered a lot. 4.2.2 Sampling for examination of containers. A random sample of ship- ping containers filled with pa

32、ckages of electrodes shall be selected in ac- cordance with MIL-STD-105 at inspection level S-1 and an acceptable quality level (AqL) of 2.5 percent to verify compliance with 4.3.1. The number of shipping containers shall be the lot size. Upon satisfactory completion of Licensed by Information Handl

33、ing ServicesMIL-E-17777D examination of filled shipping containers, a representative sample of the filled packages shall be selected in accordance with MIL-STD-105 at inspection level S-1 ard an AQL of 2.5 percent. The sample shall be examined for confor- mance to 4.3.1. 4.2.3 Sampling for examinati

34、on of electrodes. A random sample of elec- trodes shall be selected in accordance with MIL-STD-105 at inspection level S-1 and an AQL of 2.5 percent. The samples shall be examined for uniformity, dimensional tolerances, straightness and taper specified in 4.3.2 through 4.3.2.3.2. 4.2.4 Sampling for

35、tests. Four electrodes shall be selected from the samples of 4.2.3 and subjected to the copper coating and resistivity tests specified in 4.4.1 and 4.4.2. Four additional electrodes shall be selected from the samples of 4.2.3 and subjected to the applicable test specified in 4.4.3. 4.3 Quality confo

36、rmance inspection. 4.3.1 Examination of packaging and packing. Each of the containers, both outer shipping containers and unit packages, in a sample selected in accordance with 4.2.2 shall be examined for defects of construction, for unsatisfactory markings, and for compliance with the requirements

37、specified in section 5. 4.3.2 Examination of electrodes (visual and dimensional). Each of the sample electrodes selected in accordance with 4.2.3 shall be examined as speci- fied in 4.3.2.1 through 4.3.2.3. 4.3.2.1 Dimensional tolerances. The length and diameter of each of the electrodes selected in

38、 accordance with 4.2.3 shall be measured to determine conformance with 3.2.1, 3.2.2 and 3.2.3, respectively. 4.3.2.2 Straightness. The straightness (see 3.2.4) shall be verified by laying the electrode upon a surface plate or other smooth level surface and rolling it. gapping or separation between t

The resistivity of all types of electrodes sh

42、all be measured by the voltmeter-ammeter method as specified in 4.4.2.1 through 4.4.2.4 for conformance to 3.4. 4.4.2.1 Equipment. The following equipment shall be used: (a) Source of direct current (d.c.) providing a range of 6 volts (V) and 15 amperes (A) (for example, storage battery and variable

43、 resistance). (b) Voltmeter. For the range of 5 to 200 millivolts (mV), a d.c. millivoltmeter having three scales of O to 20, O to 50, and O to 200 mV, or equivalent, shall be used. For the range of 0.4 to 20 mV, a d.c. millivoltmeter having four scales of O to 2, O to 5, O to 10 and O to 20 mV, or

44、equivalent, shall be used. (c) Ammeter. A d.c. ammeter having three scales of O to 1.5, O to 3.0, and O to 15, or equivalent, shall be used. (d) Resilient contact surfaces such as silver plated copper gauze with a backing of resilient insulating material at least 0.25-inch thick. distance accurate t

Welding machines used for supply power for testing electrodes shall be variable voltage d.c. motor-generator type or vari- able voltage d.c. welder conforming to NEMA EW 1.
