SCOPE 1.1 Scope

2、 - This specification covers two types of four- pole alternating current tachometer generators. 1.2 Classification - The generator shall be furnished in the following part numbers, as specified: MS25038-1 MS25038-2 Four-pole tachometer generator which can also operate a pro- peller synchronizer/sync

11、in connection with specific procure- ment functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the c.ontracting officer. I 3. RIQUIREMENTS * 3.1 Qualification - The generators furnished under this specification shall be a product which has been tested and meets the Quality Assu

12、rance Provisions specified herein, and has been listed on or approved for listing on the applicable qualified products list, 3.2 Selection of government documents - Specifications and standards for necessary commodities and Services not specified herein shall be selected in accordance with MIL-SD-14

13、3 except as provided in 3.2.1 and 3.2.2. 3.2.1 Standard parts - With the exception of 3.2.2, MS and AN standard parts shall be used where they suit the purpose. They shall be identified on the drawings by their part numbers. 3.2.2 Commercial parts - Commercial parts having suitable properties may be

14、 used, where on the date of invitation for bids, there are no suitable standard parts. In any case, commercial parts, such as screws, bolts, nuts, cotter pins, having suitable properties shall be used provided: (a) They can be replaced by the standard parts (MS or ANI without alteration. (b) The cor

15、responding standard part numbers are referenced in the parts list and, if practic- able, on the contractors drawings. 3.3 Materials - Materials shall conform to applicable specifications and shall be as specified herein. Materials for which there are no applicable specifications, or which are not sp

16、ecifically described herein, shall be of the best quality, of the lightest weight, and suitable for the purpose intended. 4 Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-MIL-G-5413D 3.3.1 Critical materials - Noncritical materials shall be used whe

17、re practicable. Where the use of a critical material is essential to meet specification requirements, the material used shall be the least critical of those which are adequate for the purpose. 3.3.2 Nonmagnetic materials - Nonmagnetic materials shall be used for all parts of the generator except whe

18、re magnetic materials are essential. 3.3.3 Metals -Metals shall be of the corrosion-resistant type, or shall be suitably protected as specified herein to resist cor- rosion due to fuels or oils, salt spray or atmospheric conditions to which the generator may be subjected when in storage or during no

19、rmal service life. 3.3.3.1 Dissimilar metals - Dissimilar metals as defined in MS33586 shall not be used in intimate contact with each other, unless suitably protected against electrolytic corrosion by means of pro- tective coatings. * 3.3.3.2 Aluminum alloy parts - Where practicable, aluminum alloy

20、 parts shall be covered with an anodic film conforming to MIL-A-8625. Small holes, threads and case inserts need not be anodized. Aluminum alloys which do not anodize satisfactorily shall be coated with a chem- ical film in accordance with MIL-C-5541. * 3.3.3.3 Iron and steel parts - Where practicab

21、le, iron and steel parts shall be chromium, nickel, cadmium or zinc plated in accord- ance with QQ-C-320 , QQ-N-290 , QQ-P-416 or QQ-3-325 , respectively. Parts in a confined space in the presence of organic material shall be tin- cadmium plated in accordance with MIL-P-23408. The class and type of

22、plating, shall meet the requirements of 3.3.4. * 3.3.3.4 Magnesium alloy parts - Magnesium alloy parts shall be treated in accordance with MIL-M-3171. When abrasion resistance is a factor, an anodic treatment approved by the procuring activity shall be used. specifically approved by the procuring ac

24、 or environmental conditions likely to cause corrosion in normal service life, they shall be protected against corrosion in a manner that will in no way prevent compliance with the performance requirements of this specification. Finishes and protective coatings which crack, chip or scale during norm

25、al service life or are affected by extremes of atmos- pheric or environmental conditions shall not be used. 3.3.5 Fungus-proof materials - Materials which are nutrients for fungi shall not be used where it is practicable to avoid them. Where used, they shall be treated with a fungicidal agent accept

26、able to the procuring activity, If used in a hermetically sealed enclosure, fungi- cidal treatment will not be necessary. * 3.3.6 Fumes and vapors - Materials used in the construction of the generator shall not produce corrosive, deleterious, or toxic fumes or vapors under the conditions specified h

27、erein. * 3.4 Design and construction - The generator shall be designed to operate at any speed up to 2500 RPM in either direction of rotation and in any mounting position. The generator shall conform to MS25038 and shall be suitable for mounting on a pad conforming to AND20005. The generator design

28、shall be such that the output voltage shall be three phase, having a frequency of two cycles per revolution of the generator drive shaft. The generator shall be designed to withstand a steady 20 g load applied along any of the three principal mutually perpendicular axes when mounted on a pad conform

29、ing to AND20005. The generator shall be so constructed that no parts will work loose in service and will withstand the normal shocks, vibrations, and such other conditions as are incident to shipping, storage, installation, and service without failure. The generator shall have engine. 1000 hours min

30、imum operating life on an airc.raft 3.4.1 Maintenance - The design of the generator shall be such as to accommodate to the greatest possible extent, disassembly, reassembly, and service maintenance using tools and items of maintenance, equipment which are normally available as commercial standards.

31、3.4.2 Oil seal - The generator shall be provided with an oil seal at the drive end as near the face of the mounting flange as possible. The oil seal shall be capable of preventing engine oil leakage in excess of 2 cubic centimeters per hour when under a pressure of 1 psi. 6 Provided by IHSNot for Re

This in- spection shall determine compliance w

33、ith the requirements of material, workmanship, operational adequancy, and reliability. As a minimum, each generator accepted shall have passed the following inspections: Examination of product o Continuity and resistance. Pnase rotation. Vol tage. * 4.4.2 Sampling plans - The sampling plans shall co

34、nsist of Sampling plan A and Sampling plan B inspections. The inspection samples selected for sampling tests shall first have passed the Individual in- spections. The inspection samples which have been subjected to Sampling plan A inspection shall not be delivered on contract until they have been re

35、furbished (see 6.3) resubm.itted and passed all the Individual inspections. 36、i -541 3D * 4.4.2.1 Sampling plan A samplinv selection - Sampling plan A samples shall be selected at random in accordance with the following schedule: Quantity of Generators Offered for Acceptance First 15 Next 50 Next 75 Next 100 E;-ch additional 200 or fraction thereof Quantity to be Selected for

37、 Testing SEE NOTE 1 1 1 1 Note: When Sampling plan B is invoked, the quantity shall be zero. When Sampling plan B is to be omitted, the quantity shall be one. When a defective generator occurs, no items from those still on hand or later produced shall be accepted until the extent and cause of failur

38、e have been determined and appropriately corrected. In addition, when a failure occurs, shift to one sample out of fifteen (when Sampling plan B is omitted) and proceed as indicated. 4.4.2.1.1 Sampling plan A inspection - Each sample selected Sampling plan A inspection shall be subjected to the foll

These samples shall be submitted within 10 days after manufacture, at the contract

Each sample shall be plainly identified by a durable tag

41、, securely attached and marked with the following information: (Generator, Tachometer, Four-Pole MS25038 - (d proper dash No. 1 Submitted by Manufacturers name, date) for Production Acceptance Sampling Plan B in- spection, in accordance with Contract/order No. Manufacturers part number * 4.4.2.2.1 S

42、ampling plan B approval - Approval of sampling plan B generators shall be by the procuring activity upon satisfactory completion of the designated tests. Any design, material or performance defect made evident during this test shall be corrected by the contractor to the satis- faction of the procuri

43、ng activity. any of the tests shall be cause for deliveries of equipment under the con- tract to cease until proper corrective action is approved and accomplished. Failure of the sample units to pass * 4.4.2.2.2 SamplinP plan B inspection - Each generator selected for Sampling plan B inspection shal

Qualification Phase and Sampling Phase Tests shall b

Equipments selected for Reliability Assurance Tests shall first have passed the Individual tests. 4.4.3.1 Rai-ability Qualification Phase - Prior to Quali- fied Products Listing (see 4.31, a minimum of three (3) equipments shall be tested as outlined in MIL-SID-781, under the section en

47、titled “Qualification Phase of Production Reliability Tests .“ maximum number of equipments to be used shall be those listed in Table 5 of MIL-SID-781. For the Qualification Phase, Test Level E (temperature only) shall be used. The Accept-Rejection Criteria for Test Plan I shall be used. The 4.4.3.2

48、 Reliability Sampling Phase Tests - Samples of the equipment shall be tested as outlined in MIL-SID-781, under the Section entitled “Sampling Phase of Production Reliability Tests.“ For the Sampling Phase, Test Level E (temperature only) shall be used. The Accept-Reject Criteria for Test Plan II sha

49、ll be used to determine the length of the tests (until an accept or reject decision is reached). 4.4.3.2.1 Lot size for sampling phase - The entire contract quantity (with the exception of those equipments used in the Qualifica- tion Phase) shall be considered one lot. The test program shall start the first month after the Qualification Phase has been completed. Samples shall be sel
