3、capacity to the nearest O. 1 milligram of a 25-ml Hubbard pycnometer by filling with distilled water at 25 f 1 degrees C. Fill this calibrated pycnometer with a portion of the sample which has been cooled to below 25 degrees C. Insert the pycnometer cover, taking care not to introduce air bubbles, a
4、nd condition the pycnometer in a water bath at 25 f 1 degrees C for a period of not less than 30 minutes. Remove the droplet of sample from the overflow capillary of the pycnometer, wipe the outside surface of the pycnometer dry, and weigh to the nearest O. 1 milligram. Calculate the specific gravity as the ratio of the weight of sample used to the water capacity of the pycnometer. Ir *US.
