SCOPE 1.1 This specification

2、 covers one grade of vegetable lecithin extracted from soybeans, for use in explosives. 1 2. APPLICABLE 2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of the specification to the extent specified herein. IZQUIREMENTS tt. 3.1 First Article inspection - The lecithin furnished under this specifi- cation shall be a product which has been inspected and passed the

7、first arti- cle inspection specified herein. (See 4.3 and 6.2.1). - st. 3.2 Chemical and physical properties - Lecithin shall be a plastic grade and shall conform to the chemical and physical properties of Table I when tested as specified therein. 12、- The inspection of the lecithin shall be classified as follows: a. First article inspection (4.3) b. Quality conformance inspection (4.4) 4.3 First article inspection - First article inspection shall consist of all the requirements and of all the tests and inspections of this specifi- cation, and a

13、ny additional inspections required by the contract or purchase order. 1 4.3.1 Sampling for first article inspection - Unless otherwise speci- fied (see 6.2.11, as soon as practicable after award of a contract or order, the supplier shall furnish a first article sample to determine conformance with t

Tentative Method Ja2-46. 4.5.2 Benzene-insoluble matter -

23、Transfer an accurately weighed portion of approximately 10 gm of the sample to a beaker containing 100 ml of benzene. Heat the beaker and contents on a steam bath with occasional stirring until the soluble material has been completely extracted. Transfer the insoluble matter quantitatively to a weig

24、hed Gooch crucible. contents with 100 ml of benzene and aspirate until dry. 100 to 105OC for 1 hour, cool in a desiccator and weigh. Cool the contents of the flask to room temperature, add 50 ml of cold distilled water, and shake

31、ution during this period and then decant the acetone into a 250-ml beaker which has been previously dried si: 105OC, desiccated and weighed, tube to the 50 ml mrk with acetone, stir well and repeat as above. Decant the acetone into the 250-ml beaker. Evaporate the acetone on a water bath. A stream o

32、f clear dry air may be used to facilitate the removal of the sol- vent. Dry in an oven at 105 + 2OC for one hour, cool to room temperature in a desiccator and weigh th acetone soluble matter. 38、ble by means of suction. Wash the precipitate twice with the cold distilled water and once with absolute alcohol. Dissolve the precipitate in the crucible using 15-ml of acetone and transfer to a 50-ml volumetric flask, Wash the crucible three times with 10-ml portions of acetone, Prepare standards

44、Level C - The lecithin shall be packed in substantial commercial containers of the type, size, and kind commonly used for the purpose, con- structed so as to insure acceptance and safe delivery by common or other carriers, at the lowest rate, to point of delivery specified in the con- tract or purch

45、ase order. 5.2 Marking - In addition to any special marking required by the con- - -t-C - c- or order, shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with the recuirements of MIL-STD-129. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use - Lecithin furnished under the requirements of this . specification is used in form
