REQU;TREMENTS 3.1 General. - The motor-generator sets shall be 440 volt, 3-phase, 60 cycle, 1800 revolutions per minute (r. p. m. ) to 5 kilowatts .
9、(kW.) 120 volt, single phase 400 cycle, O. 8.power factor (p. f.), complete with such other control and regulating accessories as are necessary. The motor-generator set shall be designed to facilitate parallel operation, however, separately mounted components for parallel operation shall not be prov
10、ided. The complete system shall be as UgkA and compact as practicable. Fabricated construction in lieu of castings shall be used whenever practicable. 3.1.1 The equipment shail conform to type E, of Specification MIL-M-2130, in addition to the requirements specified herein. Whenever a requirement of
11、 Specification MIL-M-2130 conflicts with a requirement of this specification, the requirement of this specification shall govern. 3.1.2 Ambient temperature. - The motor-generator and all components shall be suitsble for operationover an ambient temperature range of O to plus 50“ Centi- grade (C.), a
12、d storage over an ambient temperatiire range of minus 55 to plus65“C: shall not cause damage. A relative hiimidity of 95 percent shall not impair opera- tion of the motor generator set. 2 o- _. 13、bricated, double sealed, double row width, single row ball type. Maximum bearing temperature shall not exceed BOOC. when lubricated with lubricant conforming to Specifica- tim MIL-G-18709. The use of silicone grease will be permitted in prelubricated bearings only when temperatures are in excess of
14、OOC., but not more than 150C. provided the bearings have been heat-stabilized. All bearing temperatures refer to the temperature of the inner race. 3.1.4 Airborne noise. - The airborne noise of the complete motor-generator set (while in operation) shall not exceed 65 decibels above O. 0002 dynes per
15、 square centimeter. 3.1.5 internally excited vibration. - internally excited vibration shall be kept to an absolute minimum in order to reduce structureborne noise. The design and mechanical balance af the motor generator shall be such that the maximum velocity of any frequency component of the over
16、all vibration spectrum does not exceed BO velocity decibels (Vdb) when tested as specified (see 4.2.3). This limit shall apply for all frequencies up to 2000 cycles per second (c. p. s.). Velocity decibels shall be defined as: Where: V = velocity of the frequency component being tested in VB = lo6 c
17、entimeters per second. terms of centimeters per second, and 3.1.6 Shock resistance. - Motor-generators and all components shall with- stand the cbs Hi shock test in accordance with Specification MIL-S-901.without the use of shock-mounts. 18、 or set s, material shall dripproof, self-ventilated, suitable for bulkhead mounting, and 3.3.7.1 Frequency regulation. - For steady state input and load conditions within the operating range of 90to il0 percent supply voltage97-1/2 to 105 percent supply frequency and no load to full load, the frequ
19、ency regulation of the m otor-generator shall be between the limits of 398 and 402 cycles. For any fixed electrical input and load conditions, the frequency shall not vary by more than the plus or minus one cycle within the range of 398 to 402 cycles. A warmup period of 1 hour will be allowed with r
20、egard to the above requirement. 3.3.7.2 Recover time. - The time to return and stay within plus or minus 1/2 percent application or removal of 1/2 load, O. 8 p. f. shall not exceed O. 5 second. . the rated value of the sustained frequency following a sudden 3.3.7.3 Range of frequency adjustment. - A
21、 frequency adjustment device shall be provided with the frequency regulator to adjust the frequency output of the generator within the range of 395 to 405 cycles when operating under an input rating of 440 vplts, 60 cycle. The adjustment device shall be arranged for external, front of enclosure oper

23、proof, self-ventilated, suitable for bulkhead mounting, and shall conform to Specfication MIL-E-2036. the operating range of 396 to 484 volts supply, and 58.5 to 63 cycles supply frequency, the voltage regulation shall be plus or minus i/2 percent. 3.3.8.1 Voltage regulation. - For stewiy state inpu
24、t and load conditions within 3.3.8.2 Voltage variations (dip or rise). - The voltage dip or rise shall not exceed 10 percent deviation from the rated voltage following a sudden application or removal of full load. 3.3.8.3 Harmonic content. - From no-load to full-load, the root mean square (r. m. s.)
25、 value of the sum of all harmonic components in Lne output voltage wave shall not exceed 3 percent of the r. m. s. value of the rated output voltage. 3.3.8.4 Voltage drift. - After a 1 hour warm-up period, a voltage drift which occurs shall not cause the voltage regulation to exceed the plus or minu
26、s 1/2 per- cent. 3.3.8.5 Recovery time. - The time to return and stay within plus or minus 1/2 percent of rated value to the sustained voltage following a sudden applica- tion or removal of 1/2 load shall not exceed O. 1 seconds. 3.3.8.6 Range of voltage adjustment. - A voltage adjustment means shal
27、l be provided with the voltage regulator which will be capable of changing the voltage from 3. O percent below to 5. O percent above rated voltage in steps of not more than O. 5 percent of rated voltage at any load from no-load to full-load. The adjust- ment device shall be mounted inside the voltag
28、e regulator enclosure. 3.4 Control panel mounting. - insofar as practicable, separate sedionalized panel mountings including individual terminal strips in accordance with Specifica- tion MIL-T-16784 and grouped (served) interconnecting conductors shall be used in order to simplify trouble shooting a

30、 the applicable equipment specifications. 32、alog may be consulted in the office of the Government inspector.) 3.6 Technical manuals. - Technical manuals shall be type B in accordance with Specification ML-T-15071, except that the requirements for distribution shall not apply. The following equipment, as applicable, shall be covered: Motor. Ge
33、nerators. Voltage reguat or. Magnetic particle clutch. Special devices on equipment. Frequency regulator. Motor starter. Technical manuals shall contain reduced size prints of all drawings satisfactory to the bureau or agency concerned and a list of drawings indicating drawing numbers of the manufac
34、turer and the bureau or agency concerned in parallel columns. The mauuas shall also include a description of the radio interference reduction equip- ment, rating manufacturers catalog or p in addition the following shall be suppied: (a) Dimensioned outline drawings of the complete motor- generat or,
35、 including all connections, weights and other data necessary to clearly describe and depict the equipment. (b) Drawings of the bedplate and coupling. (c) Name of manufacturer, type numbers, ratings (volts, amperes, r. p. m., kw.) of ali equip- ment. (d) Any additional drawings required for the prope
36、r installation, operation, and maintenance of the equipment. 3.8 When any specification which forms a part of this specification required that the product be subjected to and pass qualification tests, only products which are listed on the applicable Qualified Products List on the date of invitation
37、for bids or which may be added to that Qualified Products List subsequent to that data shall be utilized in the construction of equipment specified to be in accordance with this specification. in the event no Qualified Products List has been issued, the contrac- tor shall request instructions as t w
38、hat testing will be required to determine whether the product meets the requirements of the specification. 3.9 W.orkmanship. - Workmanship shall be first class in every respect. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVZSIONS 4.1 Test procedures. - Tests shall be conducted with the motor-generator * operated as a c
39、omplete unit with all .component parts. 4.2 Tests. - in addition to the routine tests (except mechanical balance) - specified in Specification MIL-M-2130, the following selective tests shall be required: 4.2.1 Voltage regulator, - The legulator shall be tested to determine con- formance with 3.3.8.1
40、 through 3.3.8.6. 4.2.2 Frequency regulator. - The regulator shall be tested to determine con- formance with 3.3.7.1 and 3.3.7.3. F Licensed by Information Handling Services4.2.3 The following test shall apply in Irea of that required by Specifica- tion MEM-2130: 4.2.3.1 internally excited vibration
41、 test. - Motor generators shall be tested to determine compliance with the internally excited vibratin requirements speci- fied herein. The motor generator shall be elastically mounted in accordance with Standard MIESTD-167. Measurements shall be made on the bearing housing and in the direction givi
42、ng the axitrium vibratibn when the motor generator is operat- ing at rated speed and at rated load, Electronic vibration meters such as MB, Calidyne, General Radio, Consolidated or equal may be used to determine if the overall vibration velocity level is less than 90 vdb. if the overall level is wit
43、hin 80 vdb, analysis of the entire frequency spectrum will not be required. If the overall level is over 90 vdb, a frequency analyzer shall be used in conjunction with the above meters to ascertain that no frequency component up to 2000 c. p. s. exceeds 90 vdb. Test data submitted for each machine s
44、hall include a description of the test set up including compression of elastic mount, instruments used,. loca- tion of readings taken, actual instrument readings, and any corrections or calcu- lations made. 4.3 Inspection procedures. - For Naval purchases, the general inspection procedures shall be
45、in accordance with General Specifications for Inspection of Material. 5. PREPARATION FOR DEWNERY 5.1 Equipment. - 5.1.1 Controller (motor starter) motors and generators. - The controller (motor starter), motors and generators, shall be prepared for the level of ship- ment as specified (see 6. 1) in
46、accordance with Specification MIL-P-16018 or MIGP-16298, as applicable. 5.1.2 Voltage regulator and frequency regulator. - The voltage regulator and frequency regulator shall be prepared for the level of shipment as specified (see 6.1) in accordance with Specification MIL-R-272s. 5.2 Repair parts, -
47、 5.2.1 The onboard repair parts for the controller, voltage regulator, fre- quency regulator, clutch and motor-generator shall be prepared for the level of shipment as specified (see 6.1) in accordance with Specifications MIEP-17652 and MIGP-16298. Onboard repair parts boxes conforming to Specifica-
