2、use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION 1.1 Scope. This specification establishes the requirements for the manufacture and inspection of two types of bomb racks capable of carrying and releasing stores having suspension lugs spaced 355.6 milli- mete

3、rs (14 inches) and .762 millimeters (30 inches) apart and weighing from 113 kilograms (250 pounds) t6 1,810-kilograms (4,000 pounds). The test limits in this specification define minimum acceptable capabilities. 1.2 Classification. Bomb ejector racks, hereinafter called bomb racks, covered by this s

4、pecification shall be of the following types : Type I AERO 7A Bomb Ejector Rack Type II AERO 7B Bomb Ejector Rack 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Issues of documents. The Following documents of the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specification

11、 specifications and standards. Should a conflict exist between any requirement in this specification and any requirement in the applicable documents referenced herein, the requirements of this specification shall take precedence over the refer- enced (applicable) document. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First

12、article? The bomb racks furnished under this specification shall be a product which has been inspected and passed the first article inspection specified herein (see 4.3). 3.2 Selection of specifications and standards. Specifications and standards for necessary commodities and services not specified

13、herein shall be selected in accordance with MIL-STD-143. 3.3 Interchangeability. All parts having the same part number shall be directly and completely interchangeable with each other with respect to installation and performance. 3.4 Identification of parts. All parts shall be marked as specified on

14、 the drawings listed in the data list for the bomb rack being procured, or in accordance with MIL-STD-130, if not specified on the drawings. The item identification and part number requirements of MIL-STD-100 shall govern the part number and changes thereto. 3.5 Bomb rack. 3.51 Construction. The con

15、struction of the bomb rack shall be in accordance with the drawings listed in the data list for the bomb rack being procured and as specified herein (see 6.2.1s). 3.5.2 Performance. The bomb racks shall satisfy all perform- ance requirements when subjected to the following inspections in the order s

16、pecified in Tabes I and II. a, b. 18、see 4.6.5j) Static (see 4.6.5k) 3.6 Bomb rack hooks. The construction and inspection of the bomb rack hooks shall be in accordance with MIL-B-85042. 3.7 Electric fuze arming unit. The construction and inspec- tion of the electric fuze arming unit shall be in accordance with MIL-C- 81842. 3.8 Workman

19、ship. The workmanship displayed in fabrication and assembly of the bomb racks shall be such as to assure, within design limitations, the ability of the bomb racks to meet their performance requirements under all applicable environmental conditions specified herein. Unauthorized repair, welding, heav

20、y burrs, or parts assemblied by introduction of high stresses not prescribed in the drawings, are typical signs of inferior workmanship and shall be cause for rejection. The standards of workmanship exhibited in the approved first article sample, subject to any qualification stated in the government

21、s notice of approval, shall be determinative of the requirements of the contract relative to workmanchip. (See 4.6.1). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise speci- fied in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection

22、requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the government. The government reserves the right to perform any

23、 of the inspections set forth in the specification, where such inspections are deemed necessang to assure that the supplies and services conf om to prescribed requirements. . 24、ction. The inspection of the bomb racks shall be classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3) b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4) 4.3 First article inspection. First article inspection shall consist of all of the inspections listed in Table I. First article inspection report

25、format shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-831 (see 6.3). 4.3.1 Sampling for first article inspection. First article bomb rack samples shall consist of the first two bomb racks manufactured on contract. The bomb racks shall be permanently labeled A and B for ease of identification. Failure of the bo

26、mb racks to pass any of the first article inspections shall be cause for rejection (see 6.2.2.1). 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspection shall consist of the following inspections: a. Individual Inspections (see 4.4.1) b. Sampling Inspections (see 4.4.2) Quality conforman

27、ce inspection report format shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-83l(see 6.3). 4.4.1 Individual inspections. Individual inspections are those inspections conducted on each bomb rack. Individual inspections for the bomb racks are shown in Table II, Group 1. Failure to pass any of these inspections sha

28、ll be cause for rejection of the bomb rack. 4.4.2 Sampling inspections. A random sampling of the bomb racks shall be selected by the procuring activity from each production lot in accordance with Table III and shall be subjected to the inspec- tions listed in Table II, Group 1 and Group 2. Group 1 i

29、nspections shall be conducted prior to Group 2 inspections. Failure to pass any of these inspections shall be cause for rejection of the entire lot (see 6.2.ld). 4.5 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified, all inspections shall be performed under the following conditions: a. Room temperat

Test temperature. All parts of the test item shall be stabilized at the specified temperature 12.8OC (25OF)

31、 indicated prior to conducting any tests. tion will have been attained when the indicated temperature of the surface af the largest mass of the test item does not change by more than +2,8OC (+SF) in a period of 1 hour. Unless otherwise specified, temperature stabiliza- c. Swaybraces. Whenever tests

32、require that a store be mounted to the bomb rack, swaybraces shall be used. The swaybraces shall be adjusted as described in 4.6.2d. d. Test stores. The stores, as referenced herein by weight, shall conform to the following parameters. The store suspension lugs shall be in accordance with MS3314 and

33、 Drawing 1380540. 1. The 113 kilogram (250 pound) store shall utilize applicable suspension lugs, spaced 355.6 millimeters (14 inches) apart. Its center of gravity shall be based on the MK81 L.D.G.P. bomb. 2. The 450 kilogram (1,000 pound) store shall utilize applicable suspension lugs, spaced 355.6

34、 millimeters (14 inches) apart. Its center of gravity shall be based on the MK83 L.D.G.P. bomb. 3. The 910 kilogram (2,000 pound) store shall utilize applicable suspension lugs, spaced 762 millimeters (30 inches) apart. Its center of gravity shall be based on the MK84 L.D.G.P. bomb. 4, The 1,620 kil

35、ogram (3,575 pound) store shall utilize applicable suspension lugs spaced 762 millimeters (30 inches) apart. Its center o gravity shall be midway between the suspension lugs and 203 millimeters (8 inches) below the hook bearing surface of each suspension lug. e. Input power requirements. The bomb ra

36、ck shall perform satisfactorily under all applicable conditions specified herein from a 28 VIIC rated voltage power source with characteristics and limits as defined in MIL-STD-704, except that the bomb rack shall operate over a range of 20 to 30 VDC, measured at the bomb racks input connector(s) .

37、4.6 Inspection 4.6.1 Bomb rack inspection. Each bomb rack shall be inspected to ensure that it has been properly assembled and adjusted, that the electrical connections are secure and that the workmanship is as speci- fied herein (see 3.8). 4.6.1.1 Qualification by analysis, inspection, and demonstr

38、ation. 39、 1 4.6.1.2 Packaging inspection. Each bomb rack shall be examined to ensure that the preparation for delivery conforms to this specification (see Section 5). 4.6.2 Functional test. Each bomb rack, mounted in the horizon- tal position, shall pass the following tests. WARNING The bomb rack shall not b

40、e fired without a reac- tive store load imposed on its ejector foot. a. The hooks shall be mechanically latched and the safety pin installed. The sear latch lines shall be visually inspected to verify that each hook is securely latched. Apply 11.3 newton meters (100 inch pounds) maximum torque to th

41、e manual release. The release mechanism shall not actuate. b. Remove the safety pin and actuate the manual release mechanism. The release mechanism shall operate smoothly and the hooks shall open. c. Repeat a. and b. four times. d. Suspend a 113 kilogram (250 pound) store from 355.6 millimeter (14 i

42、nch) hooks of the bomb rack. Tighten the forward and aft sets of sway braces as follows: 1. Hand tighten all braces until the pads lightly contact the store. 2. Tighten the forward starboard pad 1/4 turn. 3. Tighten the aft port pad 1/4 turn, 4. Tighten the forward port pad 1/4 turn. 5. Fighten the

43、aft starboard pad 1/4 turn. 6. Repeat tightening in order of 2. through 5. to attain 3/8 turn total on each swaybrace. e. Repeat b. The store shall release. f. Repeat d. and e. with a 910 kilogram (2,000 pound) store suspended from the 762 millimeter (30 inch) hooks. g. With the 355.6 millimeter (14

44、 inch) hooks latched, apply a 66,720 Newton (15,OO pound) vertical down static load. Concentrate the load midway between the hooks. 45、h. Repeat g. with a 88,960 Newton (20,000 pound) load on the 762 millimeter (30 inch) hooks. i. Insert the safety pin in the bomb rack. Load the ejector assembly with two applicable impulse cailtridges (see 6.2.11). Suspend a 113 kilogram (250 pound) store from the bomb rack. Swaybrace in accor- dan

46、ce with d. above. Apply 28 MC to the bomb rack. The impulse cart- ridges shall not ignite, and the store shall not be ejected. j. Remove the safety pin. Apply 28 VDC to the bomb rack. The impulse cartridges shall ignite and the store shall be ejected. Remove, disassemble, clean and inspect the eject

47、or assembly and surround- ing areas of the bomb rack as indicated in the applicable manuals (see 6.2.lh). There shall be no damage to the bomb rack. k. Repeat i. and j . with a 910 kilogram (2,000 pound) store suspended from the 762 millimeter (30 inch) hooks, 4.6.3 Arming mechanism. A MK-9 or MK-11

48、 bomb arming wire assembly shall be inserted in the tail and nose arming units of the bomb rack (see 6.2.lm). With each arming unit unenergized, pull each arming wire slowly, in a vertically downward direction, parallel to the side of the bomb rack. Each arming unit shall support a 40 Newton (9 poun

49、d) load, but release the wire at any load in excess of 58 Newtons (13 pounds). A minimum of three successive measurements shall be obtained on each unenergized arming unit. With each arming unit energized, pull on each arming wire in the same direction as specified above. Each arming unit shall support a load of 667 Newtons (150 pounds). 4.6.4 Electric fuze arming. The Oo pull-out force for the electric fuze connector assembly and the p
