The radio set shall consist of a receiver - transmitter RT-l209/URC fastened to a radio frequency amplifier/automatic antenna co

28、upler AM-6874/PRC-104 by quick disconnect latches, this assembly then being latched to the apprqriate battery pack (See 3.3.1). The radio set control panel shall be a removable, plug in assembly of the receiver - transmitter . 3.3.1.1.1 RT-1209 Function. The RT-1209 shall contain all of the necessar

29、.y circuitry in 4 pluci in modules and control panel assembly to function as a receiver or exciter with the performance required by this spcification with the exception that necessary radio frequency interference (RFI) filtering of leads interfacing with Radio Set AN/GRC-193 my be accomplished exter

30、nally (see 3.3.3). The system interface shall be in accordance with MIL-A-28988 and compatibility with the AM-6879/URC and MT-4874/URC shall be maintained. 3.3.1.1.2 Control elements. The following controls, receptacles, and indicators shall -located on the control panel. 3.3.1.1.2.1 Mode switch. Th

32、e only (Voice or Continuous Wave (CW) Transmit/Recei ve (Voice or CW) Transmit/Reci eve (Data) 3.3.1.1.2.2 Frequency selector. This selector shall consist of six controls. These controls, in a line from left-to-right, shall control the selection of 10 megahertz (MHz), 1 MHz, 100 kilohertz (KHz), 10

33、KHz, 1 KHz and increments. Detenting at each frequency increment shall be provided. Thumb wheel switches are not acceptable. These controls shall be self-cleaning upon depression with respect to ice. lieu of rotary devices. the frequency selection controls shall be employed to indicate the operating

34、 suppressed carrier frequency of the equipment. This indication of frequency shall appear as whole numbers. night operation. and shall be controlled by a spring loaded switch. 42、case). shall be keyed to prevent damage and misinating of the power connectors. 3.6.1.4.3 Power cables. (a) Battery charge cable. A battery charging cable shall be provided for electrically charging rechargeable type batteries used with the radio set. Ends of the cable shall be terminated with conne

43、ctors which mate with the connectors on the battery case and battery charger, PP-6241/U or other power source. voltages of reverse polarity from entering the battery. 44、allow operation of the radio set with an external DC power supply. Reverse polarity protection and transient protection in accordance with MIL-STD-1275 for vehicular power supplies shall be provided within the cable. (c) Battery extension cable. A lightweight extension cable shall be supplied to per

45、mit operation of the radio set in extreme temperatures. The ends of this cable shall terminate in connectors which shall mate with the power connectors. This cable shall be of sufficient length to pass from the radio set case over the operators shoulder, beneath his outer garment at the collar and t

46、hen to the battery case attached to his belt. This shall be accomplished without restricting his normal movements in any way. 47、6.1 .5 Audible indicators. Five distinctive audio signals as follows shall be available at the handset earphone to alert a trained operator. 3.6.1.5.1 Battery condition indicator. Circuitry shall be provided in the radio set to inform the operator of the battery condition. When the battery voltage d

48、rops below the alarm set point, a repeating audio click shall be heard in the headset. The alarm set point shall be adjustable by means of an internal control with a minimum range of 17.5 V to 20.5 V. The alarm set point shall be adjusted in production to 19 VDC. 3.6.1.5.2 Power output indicator. Pr

49、esence of sidetone shall guarantee that the radio set is generating an rf signal with a power output within 3 dB of the power output specified in 3.6.3.2 The absence of sidetone shall indicate a lower or no power output condition. 3.6.1.5.3 Tuning indicator. A continuous 1 KHz t 100 Hz tone shall be heard in the head-ntenna coupler tune cyCle. This tone shall cease when the tuning cycle has been completed. 3.6.1.5.4 No-tune indicator.
