I Scope:- This specification covers sockets for holding various types of taper-shank cutting tools in machine spindles and turrets. 1.2 Classification. - Sockets shali be of the following type

9、rdness. - Sockets shall be furpished hardened or unhardened as specified (see 6. i). Sockets specified as unhardened shali have the tangs heat treated to a minimum Rockwell Y!” hardness of 30 or be undercut or relieved at the option of the manufacturer. Sockets specified as hardened shall have the t
10、angs and hole ends heat treated to a minimum Rockwell “C” hardriess of 50, except that type Ili, class 1 with taper hole sizes of AS taper No. 4 and larger shall be fully hardened. 3.5 Finish. - The shank taper on ail sockets shallbe ground concentric with the hole taper. 16、ood, wirebound corrugated or solid fiberboard boxes conforming to Specification “93-591, PPP-B-601 (domestic types), PPP-B-585, LLL-B-631, or LLL-B-636, respectively. The gross weight of wood boxes and wood-cleated fiberboaPd boxes shall not exceed approximately 200 pounds; of fiberboard boxes 90 po

Containers shall be in accordance with the Consolidated Freight Classification Rules or regulations of other carriers as applicable to the mode of transportation. 5.3 Markins. - In addition to any specialmarking required by the contract or order, marking for ship- ment
