Components of the

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Contractors responsibility. Unless otherwise specifi
11、ed herein the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection require- ments prior to submission for Government inspection and acceptance, Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. Inspection re
12、cords of the examinations and tests shall be kept complete and available to the Government as specified in the contract or order. 4.2 Sampling. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-105. 4.3 Lot. Lot size for examination shall be the individual booster test
13、stand. 4.4 Examination. The sample stands shall be carefully inspected and measured to determine conformance with the requirements of this specifica- tion and the applicable drawings. 4.5 Packaging. The inspector shall ascertain that the packaging method used will comply with the general requirement
14、s of this specification. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Preservation and Packaging. The stands shall be packed for domes- tic shipment in such manner as to insure acceptance by common carrier for safetransportation at the lowest rate to the point of delivery. protection from physical damage must be

16、9 b MIL-S-22219(NO%d) 5.1.1 Level. A. 5.1.1.1 Cleaning. Unless otherwise specified, the Booster Test Stand shall be cleaned in accordance with Method C-1 of Specification MIL-P-116. 5.1.1.2 Drying. Unless otherwise specified the Booster Test Stand shall be dried in accordance with one or more of the
17、 procedures given in Specification MIL-P-116 - provided the procedure is not injurious to the item. 5.1.1.3 Preservative application. Unpainted ferrous metal surfaces subject to corrosion shall be brush coated with P-2 type preservative in accordance with Specification MIL-P-116. 5.1.1.4 Unit packag

Unit packaging of the Booster Test Stand shall be in accordance with Method I of Spcification MIL-P-116. preserved as specified in 5.1.1.3 shall be wrapped in barrier material conforming to MIL-B-121, Grade A so as to protect the preservative coated surfaces. twine. 21、terior Containers. The Booster Test Stand packaged as described in 5.1 snall be packed in a wood box conformizig to Specification PPP-B-621, Class 2, Style 2 or Style 4. Sufficient blocking and bracing s :all be provided to prevent damage to theequipment during shipment and multiple handling. 5.2.2
22、Level B. - Not applicable 5.2.3 Level C. The Booster Test Stand packaged in accordance with 5.1 shall be packed to afford protection against damage during direct shipment from the supply source to the first receiving activity for immediate use. Containers shall comply with tiie carrier rules and reg
23、ulations applicable to trie mode of transportation. 5.3 Marking 5.3.1 Special Markings. - None 5.3.2 Normal Markings. In addition to tne markings required by contract or order, unit packages, intermediate packages (when used), and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with the requiremen
24、ts of MIL-STD-129, including serial numbers. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The booster test stands procured under this specification are intended for use in testing the TERRIER missile booster BT-3. The stands will accept the ET-3 in either handling bands or slings and may be used to position the handl
25、ing bands. The stands can be rolled about to move the component to the desired position. 26、 of the Industrial Security Manual for Safe-guarding Classified Information (Attachment to DD Form 441) and current security regulations of the cognizant Inspector of Naval Material 6.3 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the title, number, and date of this specification. 6.4 Options

Desired options shall be forwarded to the contracting officer prior to use by the contractor. 6,4.1 The attention of the contracting officer is invited to the Quality Assurance Provisions and options in Specification MIL-P-116, 6.5 Criteria for use of proper level of preservation, packaging and pa

This level shall be used or those items which are to be shipped to indeterminate destinations or stored under indeterminate con- ditions for redisbribution anywhere. For Level C. This level shall be used only when it is definitely known that the packaged item
