THIS DOCUMENT PROVIDES DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRUCKLOADING MK 1 MOD O AND MK 37 MOD O ROCKET MOTORS WHEN IN THE MOTOR IS IN THE CONTAINER MK 178 MOD O. THE PROCEDURES AND PRACTICES DESCRIBED HEREIN ARE INTENDED FOR40, 42, 44AND45 FT VAN TRAILERS

5、WITH NAIIABLE OR NON- NAILABLE FLOORS. ALL TRAILERS SHALL HAVE THEIR TANDEM AXLES LOCATED IN THE “WESTERN“ POSITION (AT THE EXTREME REAR OF THE TRAILER). THE CONTAINERS, WHEN STACKED TWO HIGH, SHALL BE STRAPPED TOGETHER IN UNITS OF FOUR AS SHOWN ON PAGE 5. IF REQUIRED BY THE LENGTH OF THE TRAILER, T

6、WO CONTAINERS MAY BE STACKED (ONE ON TOP OF THE OTHER) AND STRAPPED TOGETHER. PLACE THIS UNIT OF TWO AT THE REAR OF THE LOAD. IT SHALL BE LOCATED A MINIMUM OF TWO UNITS FORWARD OF THE REAR OF THE UNITS STRAPPED IN FOURS. THE REAR BLOCKING ASSEMBLY, DETAIL 8, SHALL FILL THE VOID BETWEEN THE IADING AN

7、DTHE TRAILER DOORS WHEN THE DOORS ARE . CLOSED. DO NOT USE TRAILERS WITH ROLL UP DOORS WHEN BLOCKING BY THIS METHOD. WHEN A TRAILER hS NON-NAILABLE FLOORS AND SLEEPERS CANNOT BE NAILED TO THE FLOOR, SUBSTITLIIE FILLER ASSEMBLY, DETAIL C, FOR THE SLEEPERS. THE FILLER ASSEMBLYS SHALL FILL THE VOID BET

8、WEEN THE IADING AND THE TRAILER WALLS. ONE-HALF INCH SIACK IS PERMITTED. THE MIMUM GROSS WEIGHT OF THE TRACTOR-TRAILER AND THE ALLOWABLE AXLE WEIGHTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CARRIER. THE CARRIER WILL ADVISE THE SHIPPER OF THESE LIMITATIONS AND THE SHIPPER SHALL LOAD THE TRAILER IN SUCH A MANNE

9、R THAT THE TRACTOR-TRAILER WILL NOT EXCEED THESE LIMITATIONS. AFTER BLOCKING AND WCING HAS BEEN INSPECTED, ATTACH SHIPPING DOCUMENTS TO INSIDE OF TRAILER IN AN ACCESSIBLE AREA, CLOSE AND SEAL TRAILER DOORS AND ATTACH “EXPLOSIVE 8“ PLACARD TO BOTH SIDES, FRONT AND BACK ORTRAILER. APPLICABLE WTERIAL S

10、PECIFICATIONS: DUNNAGE LUMBER, MM-L-751; NAILS, FF-N-l5, TYPE II STYLE IO, COMMON BRIGHT; STRAP- PING, QQ-5-781, PIPE I CLASS A. FOR GENERAL TRUCKLOADING PROCEDURES REFER TO THE GENERAL TRUCKLOADING DOCUMENT, MIL-STD-1324 (NAVY). FTL 40,42,44 _A_- MIL-STD-1320-15 (NAVY) STACKING AND STRAPPING FOR TR

11、UCKLOADING ONLY TO EXPEDITE TRUCKLOADING HANDLING AND LOADING OPERATIONS AND TO ASSURE THAT THE STACKING FEATURES REMIN ENGAGED, FOUR CONTAINERS SHALL BE STACKED AND STRAPPED TOGETHER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE. i. 2. POSLTION BOTTOM CONTAINERS SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE FORE AND AFT ENDS

POSITION THE TOP CONTAINERS ON THE BOTTOM CONTAINERS WITH THE FORE AND AFf ENDS IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS THE BOTTOM CONTAINERS. 1-1 ALL STACKING FEATURES MUST BE IN ALIGNMENT. 3.
