39、of measuring and determining the magnetic characteristics (permeability; electrical conductivity; ferrous, stray and eddy current magnetic field strengths) of materials and equipment. 1.1.1 Amlication. The requirements of this standard should be applied for the acquisition of materials and equipment
40、 to be used on nonmagnetic mine warfare ships and craft, as specified in the individual material and equipment specifications or in the contract. 1.2 Classification. Classification is applicable to the type of magnetic fieid source and the test method for tests established by this standard. 1.2.1 Fi
41、eld sources. Magnetic field sources shall be classified as follows : Class 1. Ferrous magnetic field. Class 2. Eddy current magnetic field. Class 3. Stray magnetic field. 1.2.2 Test methods. Test methods are grouped in sections and designated by a series of numbers in accordance with the following s
