Materials not specified herein shall conform to the requirements 3.1.1 Metals.- Metal parts shall be of a corrosion-resistant metal 3.1 Materials.- Materials shall be as specified in 3.1.1 through I Of MIL-T-23991 or of a metal given a corrosion-resistant treatment or coating in accordance with

12、ar comprehension of all the mechanical and electrical principles involved in its operation. All moving parts shall be driven by an electric motor. The cylinders, head, block, timing gear housing, flywheel housing, crankcase and manifolds of the engine shall be sectionalized in such a manner as to sh
13、ow clearly the principles of operation of the following phases: combustion and exhaust. 15、ty,- Electrical and mechanical safety provisions shall be in accordance with MIL-T-23991 and 3.2.3.1. - NP-40-535-5-55 and NP-40-536-5-55. - 3.2.3.1 Closures.- Clear plastic closures or guards shall be provided 3.3 Construction,- Construction shall be in accordance with processes for all exposed, ha
16、zardous areas. requirements of MIL-T-23991. 3.4 Dimensions and tolerances .- Dimensions and tolerances shall be such as to assure meeting the requirements of 3.2.1, 3.5 and 3.6. 3.4.1 Dimensi ons . - Dimensions (shapes and contours of openings ) not shown in the photographs of 3.2.1 shall be consist
17、ent with the functional design of the device and inherent qualities of the material being used. 3.4.2 Tolerances.- Tolerances in construction, shall be consistent with functional design, inherent qualities of the material being used, and shall afford freedom from binding in structural and mechanical
18、 parts, to ensure free and easy operation of all moving parts of the trainer. 3.5 Reliability.- The trainer shal? be designed to withstand classroom use. Reliability shall be a prime consideration in the design and manufacture of the trainer. The design shall be such as to result in reduced requirem
19、ents for adjustments or alinement. The trainer shall be constructed so no fixed part shall become free and no moving part shall become loose or sluggish in operation. The trainer shall be designed for storage and transportation when under ambient conditions of temperature ranging from minus 5 to plus 125 degrees Fahrenheit. accordance with MIL-

23、 and accessories, shall be constructed and finished in a thoroughly workmanlike manner. ParfAcular attention shall be given to neatness and thoroughness of markings and indications of parts and assembljes, painting, and freedom of parts Prom burrs and sharp edges. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1
24、 Responsibility for inspection,- Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for. the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise , specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other faci
25、lities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perfom any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services con
26、fom to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspection.- Inspections to be performed are classified as follows: (a) in-process inspection .( b) Qual i ty conformance inspection. 4.3 In-process inspection.- In-process inspection shall include such visual and mechanical examination, and test
27、ing of materials, subassemblies, parts and accessories (including purchased standard items) during the manu- facturing process as may be necessary to assure conformance to all the requirements of this specification. 4.4 Quality conformance inspection.- Quality conforinance inspection shall consist o
28、f a preproduction inspection and inspection of production units . 4.4.1 Preproduction inspection.- A preproduction inspection shall be conducted on a preproduction unit and shall consist of all the examinations and tests specified in 4.5 and 4.6, the extent necessary to maintain quality control and

31、 compliance to the requirements of this specification. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY i 5.1 packaged for mechanical and physical protection in accordance with MIL-P-116, Method III, a container conforming to PPP-B-636, Class 2. Preservation and packaging.- Each trainer shall be preserved and 5.11 Unit
32、packaging.- Each trainer shall be packaged one unit to 5.2 Packing.- Units packaged in accordance with 5.1.1 shall be packed in exterior containers conforming to PPP-B-601, styles A or B with steel banding, or PPP-B-621. The gross weight shall not exceed the weight limitations of the shipping contai
33、ner. with a waterproof barrier sealed with adhesive or tape to effect water resistance in accordance with MIL-L-10547. A case liner shall not be required where package(s) and package dunnage have been treated to resist water. Unit fiber boxes, conforming to PPP-B-636, Class 2, exterior shipping cont
34、ainers, closed, reinforced and waterproofed in accordance with the appendix thereto, and used as shipping containers, shall not be overpacked. 5.3 Physical protection,- All material shall be packaged and packed in containers constructed to provide a compact and nonshifting load. Adequate cushioning,
35、 blocking and bracing shall be provided within shipping containers in a manner designed to prevent damage due to shock, vibration or impact during shipment, handling and storage.
