6、fication and applicable documents may be obtained upon application to the Commanding Officer, Naval Supply Depot, Code 1051, 5801 Tabor Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19120. 3.1 Qualification - The transmitters furnished under this specification shall be a product, samples of which have been tes
7、ted and have passed the listing on the applicable qualified products list. .I Qualification Tests specified herein, and has been listed on or approved for -: 3.2 General - The requirements of MIL-T-5350 are applicable as requirements of this specification. Additional requirements shall be as specifi
8、ed herein. 3.3 Design and construction - The transmitter shall produce a synchro output signal representative of the rate of fuel flow through a range as classified on MS90361. The synchro signal shall operate one or two indicators designed in accordance with MIL-1-81186. The transmitter shall preve
9、nt small variations of flow rate from causing objectionable oscillations in indicator readings, 3.3.1 to MS90361. 3.3.2 calibrated for rate of flow in pounds per hour (PPK) using fuel which complies with MIL-J-5624. A commercial fuel of higher flash point may be used for testing purposes. Case - The
10、 outline dimensions of the transmitter shall CO be used to drive the fluid at these flow rates. The transmitter shall be energized and wired to an indicator in accordance with MIL-1-81186. 4.4.3.3.2 Performance characteristics to be measured - The Scale error at room temperature test, described unde
11、r Inspection methods, shall be conducted at least once each week. 4.4.3.3.3 Failure criteria - Whenever performance characteristics fall below the acceptance requirements (4.4.3.3.2), at least one failure has occurred. If subsequent analysis reveals that several parts have deteriorated, each should
12、be counted a failure, unless one part caused the other parts to fail. 4,4,3.3.4 Preventive maintenance - No preventive maintenance may be accomplished on samples while they are on test. 4.4.3.3.5 Disposition of samples upon completion of tests - Any sample tested, other than those tested under. the
13、Reliability Qualification Phase, may be delivered on contract provided it meets all the following requirements: (a) It is representative of production units currently being accepted. (b) It is in “good as new“ condition or has been refurbished. (See 6.1) (c) It is otherwise satisfactory. 8 Provided

This test shall be conducted with the transmitter connected to the master indicator and the power supply. In no event shall either the upscale or downscale readings exceed the sca
15、le error tolerance specified in Table I. Dielectric strength - The dielec
17、tric strength test of MIL-T- 4.6.7 High temperature - The transmitter shall be subjected to a temperature of +38 C (+loo“ F) fora period of two hours and while still at this temperature shall be tested for scale error. The fuel shall iso be at this specified temperature. The scale error shall not ex
18、ceed the tolerances specified in Table I. The transmitter shall then be subjected to, and meet, the require- ments of the Scale error at room temperature test. 4.6.8 Low, temperature .- The transmitter shall be subjected to a temperature of -38“ C(-36.4“ F) for a period of two hours and while at thi
19、s temperature the transmitter shall be tested for scale error with fuel at -38 C (-36.4 F). The scale error shall not exceed the tolerances specified in Table I. The transmitter shall then be subjected to, and meet, the requirements of the Scale error at room temperature test. 4.6.9 Voltage and freq

21、etworking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-awards will be made only for such products as have, prior to the time set for the opening of bids, been tested and approved for inclusion in the applicable Qualified Products List whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date.
22、 The attention of the suppliers is called to this requirement and manufacturers are urged to arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government, tested for qualification, in order that they may be elgible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products covered by th
23、is specification. The activity responsible for the Qualified Products List is the Naval Air Systems Command, Department of the Navy, Washington, D. C., 20360. 6.3 Precedence of documents - When the requirements of the contract, this specification, or applicable subsidiary specifications are in confl
24、ict, the following precedence shall apply: (a) Contract - The contract shall have precedence over any I specification. -. 14 (b) This specification - This specification shall have precedence over all applicable subsidiary specifications. Any deviation from this specification, or from subsidiary spec
25、ifications where applicable shall be specifically approved in writing by the procuring activity. (c) Referenced specifications - Any referenced specification shall have precedence over ail applicable subsidiary speci- fications referenced therein.
