This document covers the general requirements for TransverseElectromag Mode (TEM) Transmission Lines (see 6.4.14) intended for use inairborne systems.1.2 Classification. REQUIREMENTS3.1 Detail spe

19、cification drawings. The individual TEM transmission linerequirements shall be as specified herein and in accordance with theapplicable detail specification drawings (see 6.4.4). In the event of anyconflict between requirements of this specification and the detai 1 specifica-tion drawi rigs, the lat

20、ter shal 1 govern.3.1.1 The procuring activity shall generate the detail specificationdrawings requi red by this document. The Government reserves the right toreview and approve the detai 1 speci fication drawings when such review isdeemed necessary to assure the conformity of the detai led TEM tran

21、smissionlines to the total system requirements.3.2 Classification of requirements. 22、en specified, samples shal 1 be subjected to firstarticle inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3.3.4 Materials. Materials shall be as specified herein or in the oetailspecification drawfng; however, when a definite material is not specified,materials used shal 1 meet the performance requirement

23、s of this specification.Approval of any constituent material shal 1 not be construed as a guarantee foracceptance of the finished product.=3.4.1 Dissimilar metals. When dissimilar metals are employed inintimate contact with each other, protection against electrolytic corrosionshall be provided as sp

24、ecified in MI L- STD-454, Requirement 16.3.4.2 Fungus-inert material . Materials shal 1 be fungus resistant andshal 1 be i n accordance WI th MI L -STD-454, Requirement 4.3.4.3 Solder and soldering. Center contacts shal 1 be made of suitableconductive materl a I that meets the requi remcnts of 3.4.1 when interfaced withcopper- beryl 1 ium per 00-C-530. The center contact, the dielectric material ,and al 1 other parts shal 1 be permanently captiva

27、ted i n both directions alongthe axis of the appropriate interfaces.3.4.5.2 Outer contacts. Outer contacts shal 1 be made of suitableconductive materia that meets the requirements of 3.4.1 when interfaced withboth copper-beryl 1 ium per QQ-C-530 and steel , corrosion resisting per QQ-S-763that has b

28、een passivated per MI L-STD-171 .3.4.6 Cou ling nuts. C?upli:g nuts afld outer structural members of thei nterface componen , in ermedlate 1 nterface component, and replaceable inter-face component shall be made of steel , corrosion resi sting per QQ-S-763 thathas been passivated per MIL-STO-171 . 30、nce with OOO-STO-1OO.3.5.1 Interfaces and interface components.3.5.1.1 Primary interfaces. Primary interfaces shal 1 be specified inaccordance witl the detal 1 specification drawings and shal 1 conform to the :requi rements of figures 1 thru 6. The primary interfaces are restricted tothe following p

34、ermediate interface shall be compatible with all styles of replaceableinterface components speci fied herein for Type I TEN transmission 1 ines.3.5.1 .2.2 The manufacturer shall develop and standardize one size andconfiguration of intermediate interface for Type I I TEN transmission 1 jnes.The inter

35、mediate interface shall be compatible with all styles of replaceableinterface components specified herein for Type 11 TEt4 transmi ssion 1 ines.3.5.1 .2.3 Intermediate interfaces shal 1 be constructed so that tnecenter contact does not extent beyond the coupling ring and is protected fromdamage duri

36、ng handling and installation.,3.5.1.3 Replaceable interface components. Replaceable interfacecomponents shaj 1 be as “specl fled 1 n the detal T specification drawings andshal 1 conform to the requirements of figures 7, 8 and 9. In addition,replaceable interface components shall have the required pr

37、imary interfacesspecified i n the detail specification drawings. Replaceable interfacecomponent styles and descriptions are 1 isted in table II .TABLE II. 38、l not be used on TEM trans-mission lines less than 3 feet long.3.5.1 .3.2 Unless otherwise specified in the oetail specificationdrawings, TEM transmission 1 ines more than 3 feet but less than 10 feet longshal 1 be provided with replaceable interface components.3.5.1 .3.3 Replaceable interface compo

39、nents shal 1 be provided on TEMtransmission 1 ines that are greater than 10 feet long.3.5.1 .3.4 The procuring activity shall specify the required dimensionsfor styles A, B and C replaceable interface components In the detail specifi-cation drawings. If the system requirements are such that a specia

40、l replace-able interface component is required, the procuring activity shall delineatethe special replaceable interface component on the detail specificationdrawings. Surface roughness on machined surfaces shal 1 be b3 microinchesmaximum.3.5.6 Installation design features.3.5.6.1 Primary interfaces shal 1 be provided with torque wrench flats inaccordance with figure 10.I 3.5.6.2 Intermediate
