OriginandDevelopmentofNFPA1000 In 1990, the Professional Qualifications Correlating Committee recommended that the Associationestablishaprojectrelatedtofireservicecertificationandaccreditationprograms. TheprojectwasapprovedattheJuly1990meetingoftheNFPAStandardsCouncil.Asaresult ofthisac

29、ice Professional Qualifications met for the first time in October 1991 and regularly during 1992 and 1993 to developthisdocument.Thecommitteereviewedmaterialsrelatedtoaccreditationandcerti- fication programs of non-fire service organizations and, where possible, used nationally ac- cepted requiremen
30、ts from these programs as the basis for this document. The committees objectivewastodeveloprequirementsthatcouldbeusedtoevaluateaccreditationandcerti- ficationsystemsthatuseNFPAProfessionalQualificationsStandards. Inthe2000editionofthisdocument,thecommitteeaddedprovisionsfortheaccrediting of nonengi

Inthe2006editionofthisdocument,thecommitteeaddedprovisionstorecognizechang- ing methodologies used for evaluations for both accreditation and certification agencies. Changes were made to bring the do
