It was iss

30、ued by the Standards Council onNovember 11, 2014, with an effective date of December 1, 2014, and supersedes all previouseditions.This edition of NFPA 1936 was approved as an American National Standard on December1, 2014.Origin and Development of NFPA 1936Work on this document began in a subcommitte

31、e of the Technical Committee on FireDepartment Equipment. In October 1992, the NFPA Standards Council organized a newcommittee, the Technical Committee on Fire Department Rescue Tools, which took over theresponsibility for developing the document. The first edition of NFPA 1936 was presented tothe N

32、FPA membership at the Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD, on 19 May 1999, and issuedby the Standards Council on 22 July 1999, with an effective date of 13 August 1999.The second edition of NFPA 1936 incorporated the Manual of Style for NFPA TechnicalCommittee Documents format for codes and standards, w

33、hich caused the renumbering of somechapters, the relocation of another chapter, and the addition of a new chapter. The title of thedocument was changed to “Powered Rescue Tools,” eliminating the “system” concept of thefirst edition. The standard addressed the tools and components as individual items

34、 and not asa “system” approach. All design, performance, and testing requirements were reviewed andrefined as necessary.The second edition was presented to the Association membership at the 2004 Novembermeeting in Miami Beach, FL, on 17 November 2004, and issued by the Standards Council withan effec

35、tive date of 7 February 2005.The 2010 edition updated referenced publications and product label requirements.The 2015 edition includes using third-party certification as part of the process for manu-facturing compliant tools, especially in Chapter 4, where the change has been carriedthroughout.
