To successfully complete the mission, an in-flight procedure was utilized to cross-link each habitat to an operational air pump. Upon landing and recovery, an investigation was conducted of th
3、e failed motor/air-pump assemblies to determine why some units failed while others performed normally. The investigation determined that all of the units that operated properly were original equipment manufacture units, and the units that failed had all been refurbished.Lesson(s) Learned: It was dis
4、covered that during the refurbishment process for the air pump, that a different material was utilized for an internal pump component that resulted in increased rotational friction and a failure to meet the specified operational life requirement.
