TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 Material: Shall consist of a highly refined, hydrotreated, straight-run distillate from crude petroleum containing 0.20% 0.01 of the antioxidant di-t-butyl-p-cresol. 3.2 Properties: The reference base oil shall conform to the re

16、d condition and free from sediment, suspended matter, and other foreign materials. The odor shall not be nauseating or irritating. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection: The manufacturer of the reference oil shall supply all samples and shall be responsible for all requi
17、red tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform such confirmatory testing as deemed necessary to ensure that the reference oil conforms to the requirements of this specification. 4.2 Classification of Tests: All technical requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on e
18、ach lot prior to shipment of reference oil by manufacturer. 4.3 Sampling and Testing: Shall be in accordance with ASTM D 4057. Sufficient oil shall be taken at random from each lot to perform all required tests. The number of determinations for each requirement shall be specified in the actual test
19、procedure or, if not specified therein, not less than three. 4.3.1 A lot shall be all oil from one batch presented for manufacturers inspection at one time. 4.4 Approval: 4.4.1 If requested by purchaser sample oil shall be submitted for approval by the purchaser before oil for production use is supp
20、lied, unless such approval be waived. Results of tests on production oil shall be essentially equivalent to those on the approved sample oil. 21、NATIONAL AMS3020A Page 4 of 5 4.4.2 Manufacturer shall use ingredients, manufacturing procedures, processes and methods of inspection on production oil which are essentially the same as those used on approved sample. If necessary to make any changes in ingredients or in manufacturing procedures, man
22、ufacturer shall submit for reapproval a statement of the proposed changes in ingredients and processing and, when requested, sample oil. Production oil made by the revised procedure shall not be shipped prior to receipt of reapproval. 4.5 Reports: The supplier of reference oil shall furnish with eac
23、h shipment a report from the manufacturer showing the composition and results of tests to determine conformance to the requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS 3020A, manufacturers identification, and quantity. 4.5.1 A material safety data sheet conforming t
24、o AMS 2825, or equivalent, shall be supplied to purchaser prior to, or with the first shipment of the oil. 4.6 Resampling and Retesting: If any sample used in the above tests fails to meet the specified requirements, disposition of the reference oil may be based on the results of testing three addit
25、ional samples for each original nonconforming sample. Failure of any retest sample to meet the specified requirements shall be cause for rejection of the reference oil represented and no additional testing shall be permitted. Results of all tests shall be reported. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY: 5.1 P
26、ackaging and Identification: 5.1.1 Oil shall be packaged in airtight containers of such size and design as to keep spillage to a minimum. 5.1.2 Each container of reference oil shall be legibly identified with not less than the following information on the attached label, using characters which will
27、not be obliterated by normal handling.
