SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin filled with 10% aromatic
6、polymer in the form of extruded or molded rods or tubes which are sintered after molding or, in the case of extrusions, sintered during the extrusion process. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for seal components in both static and dynamic applications requiring excellent wear
7、resistance against soft metals such as stainless steels and dimensional stability up to 450 F (232 C), but usage is not limited to such applications. 9、 AMS3678/11 Page 2 of 23.2 Material All products shall be molded or extruded from virgin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) powder conforming to ASTM D 4894, Type II or Type IV, uniformly blended with the specified fillers. The blended powder shall consist of 10% 2% aromatic polymer and the remainder vi
10、rgin PTFE powder, filler percentage measured by weight. 3.2.1 Fillers 3.2.1.1 Aromatic Polymer It is recommended that the aromatic polymer should be highly crystalline, uniform in size and have excellent thermal stability. It shall be P-Oxybenzoyl Homopolyester or equivalent. 3.3 Properties The prod
11、uct shall conform to the requirements shown in Table 1.
