TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:3.1 Detail Specifications: The r

15、equirements for a specific cloth shall consistof all the requirements specified herein in addition to the requirementsspecified in the applicable detail specification. In case of conflictbetween requirements of this basic specification and an applicable detailspecification, requirements of the detai

16、l specification shall govern.3.2 Material:3.2.1 Construction: The product shall consist of parallel continuous carbonfibers, woven into the specified fabric style, impregnated with uncuredresin, and arranged in a single in-plane layer.Copyright SAE International Provided by IHS under license with SA

The carbon fiber tow shall be anuntwisted strand for both the warp and fill. A

18、resin compatible finish ortreatment may be applied to promote weaving, impregnation, or fiber-matrixinteraction.3.2.3 Resin Matrix: The woven fabric shall be impregnated with a matrix resinyielding a product meeting the requirements of the detail specification.Impregnation shall be either by the sol

19、vent or hot melt method.3.2.4 Alignment: The alignment of the warp and fill yarns shall beperpendicular to each other and shall be parallel to the warp and filldirection of the impregnated cloth within three degrees (four degrees forthe first and last 10 yards (9 m) on a roll).3.2.5 Selvage: Shall n

20、ot exceed 1.5 inches (38 mm) on each side.3.2.6 Tracer Yarns: Tracer yarns shall be placed in the woven cloth. Traceryarns shall be aramid or other material specified by purchaser. No carbonfiber warp or fill yarns may be deleted to incorporate the tracer yarn.Tracer yarns shall be as follows:Tracer

35、n.4.2 Classification of Tests: Tests to determine conformance to all technicalrequirements of this specification are classified as acceptance tests and aspreproduction tests and shall be performed prior to or on the initialshipment of cloth to a purchaser, on each lot, when a change in material,proc

44、 plies of impregnated material curedin an autoclave or equivalent at a temperature and pressure as specifiedby the detailed specification to provide optimum properties. Details oftime, temperature, rate of heating, and pressures used in the cure cycleshall be noted in the report. The resultant lamin

45、ate shall be uniform inthickness within 0.003 inch 0.08 mm) and shall have a fiber volume asspecified.
