SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate. 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for structural components, including machined parts subject to excessive warpage during machining, but usage is not limited to such applications. 1
7、.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP823 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 2. 16、t treated, stretched to produce a nominal permanent set of 2% but not less than 1-1/2% nor more than 3%, and precipitation heat treated to temper T651 (See AS1990). 3.2.2.1 Plate shall receive no further straightening operations after stretching. 3.3 Properties The product shall conform to the follo

26、nch (12.70 mm) and over in nominal thickness shall be ultrasonically inspected in accordance with ASTM B 594 and shall meet the requirements of 3.4.1.1 as applicable. 3.4.1.1 Plates weighing 2000 pounds (907 kg) and under shall meet the requirements for ultrasonic class shown in Table 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The vendor of the product shall supply all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmato
29、ry testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. 30、ceptance Tests Composition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), and tolerances (3.5) and, when specified, ultrasonic soundness (3.4.1) are acceptance tests and except for composition, shall be performed on each lot. 4.2.2 Periodic Tests Bending (3.3.2) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a fr
31、equency selected by the vendor unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser. 4.3 Sampling and Testing Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 4.4 Reports The vendor of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the product conforms to the composition and tolerances, and
32、 showing numerical results of tests for the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, lot number, AMS4045K, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product. 4.5 Resampling and Retesting
33、 Shall be in accordance with AMS2355. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Identification Shall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M. 5.2 Protective Treatment Flat sheet, plate, and circles 12 inches (305 mm) and over in nominal diameter shall be oiled, prior to shipment, with a light corrosion-inhibi
34、ting oil. Circles under 12 inches (305 mm) in nominal diameter shall be protected as agreed upon by purchaser and vendor. 5.3 Packaging 5.3.1 The product shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, p
35、ackaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery. 6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT A vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders. 7. REJECTIONS Product not conforming to this specification,
36、 or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.
