NOTES 8.1 A change bar (|) located in the left margin is for the convenience of the user in locating areas where technical revisions, not editorial changes, have been made to the previous issue of this document. An (R) symbol to the left of the document title indicates a comp

Change bars and (R) are not used in original publications, nor in documents that contain editorial changes only. 8.2 Terms used in AMS are clarified in ARP1917. 8.3 Hardness should be not lower than 80 HB/10/500 or 85 HB/10/1000, or equiv
30、alent determined in accordance with ASTM E 10. Hardness has been used to verify that forgings are properly processed, but an “out-of-range hardness number“ is not always indicative of product with “out-of-specification tensile strength“. Further analysis including material composition verification,
31、heat treat process parameter review, and/or tensile property measurement on product with out-of-specification hardness may be necessary. 8.4 Dimensions and properties in inch/pound units and the Fahrenheit temperatures are primary; dimensions and properties in SI units and the Celsius temperatures a
32、re shown as the approximate equivalents of the primary units and are presented only for information. 8.5 Purchase documents should specify not less than the following: AMS4160H Product form and size or section identification number of extrusions desired Quantity of extrusions desired Whether Type II tubing is required (where no type is specified, Type I shall be supplied). 8.6 Similar Specifications ASTM B 221 and ASTM B 221M are listed for information only and shall not be construed as acceptable alternates unless all requirements of this AMS are met.
