QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe vendor of extrusions shall supply
23、all samples for vendors tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the extrusions conform to the specified requirements.4.2 Classification of TestsAll technic
24、al requirements, except heat treatment, are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each lot.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355 and the following:4.3.1 For Tensile PropertiesFrom extrusions having a nominal weight under 1 pound per linear foot (1.
25、5 kg/m), one tensile specimen shall be selected from each lot weighing 1,000 pounds (454 kg) or less; from lots weighing more than 1,000 pounds (454 kg) one additional specimen shall be taken from each 1,000 pounds (454 kg) or each fraction thereof in excess of the first 1,000 pounds (454 kg). From
26、extrusions having a nominal weight of 1 pound per linear foot (1.5 kg/m) or over, one tensile specimen shall be taken from each lot consisting of 1,000 feet (305 m) or less; from lots consisting of more than 1,000 feet (305 m), one additional specimen shall be taken for each 1,000 feet (305 m) or fr
27、action thereof in excess of the first 1,000 feet (305 m). Only one specimen shall be taken from any one piece when only one piece is available.4.4 ReportsThe vendor of extrusions shall furnish with each shipment a report stating that the extrusions conform to the chemical composition, tolerances and
28、 the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS4232C,size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and th
29、e size of the mill product.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.SAE AMS4232C Page 5 of 55. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B 666/B 666M except that green marking ink shall be used.5.2 PackagingExtrusions shall be prepared for ship
30、ment in accordance with ASTM B 660 and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the extrusions to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA vendor shall mention this specification number and its revision let
31、ter in all quotations and when acknowledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSExtrusions not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
