SCOPE 1.1 Form This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of sheet, strip, and plate 4.0 inches (102 mm) and under in nominal thickness (see 8.5). 1.2 Application These products have been used typically for parts requiring corrosion resistance and high strength up to 600
7、F (316 C), but usage is not limited to such applications. 1.2.1 Certain design and processing procedures may cause these products to become susceptible to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP1110 recommends practices to minimize such conditions. 1.3 Classification Product covered by this specification is
8、classified as follows: Type 1 - Steel multiple melted using vacuum consumable electrode practice during remelting Type 2 - Steel multiple melted using electroslag process in the final melting cycle 1.3.1 Unless a specific type is ordered, either type may be supplied. 2. 19、ag practice in the final melting cycle for Type 2. 3.3 Condition The product shall be supplied in the following condition: 3.3.1 Sheet and Strip Cold rolled, solution heat treated, and, unless solution heat treatment is performed in an atmosphere yielding a bright finish, descaled having a surface a
20、ppearance comparable to the commercial corrosion-resistant finishes described in ASTM A480/A480M and AS4194 and 3.3.1.1 or 3.3.1.2 as applicable. 3.3.1.1 Sheet No. 2D finish. 3.3.1.2 Strip No. 1 strip finish. 3.3.2 Plate Hot rolled, solution heat treated, and descaled. 3.4 Solution Heat Treatment Ex
21、cept as specified in 3.4.1, the product shall be solution heat treated by heating to 1900 F 25 F (1038 C 14 C), holding at heat for a time commensurate with the thickness and the heating equipment and procedure used, and cooling to below 90 F (32 C). Pyrometry shall be in accordance with AMS2750. SA
22、E INTERNATIONAL AMS5862M Page 4 of 9 3.4.1 Continuous Heat Treating of Sheet and Strip Process parameters (e.g., furnace temperature set points, heat input, travel rate, etc.) for continuous heat treating lines shall be established by the material producer and validated by testing of product to requ
23、irements of 3.5. Plate shall not be subjected to continuous heat treating. 3.5 Properties The product shall conform to the following requirements; tensile, hardness, and bend testing shall be performed in accordance with ASTM A370. 3.5.1 As Solution Heat Treated 3.5.1.1 Tensile Properties Shall be a
24、s follows; requirements apply in both the longitudinal and transverse direction but tests in the transverse direction need be made only on product from which a specimen not less than 2.50 inches (63.5 mm) in length can be taken. Tests in the longitudinal direction are not required on product tested

27、width with its axis of bending parallel to the direction of rolling and shall withstand, without cracking, bending at room temperature through an angle of 180 degrees around a diameter equal to 18 times the nominal thickness of the product. In case of dispute, the results of tests using the guided b
28、end test of ASTM E290 shall govern. 3.5.2 Response to Heat Treatment The solution heat treated product, 4.0 inches (102 mm) and under in nominal thickness, precipitation heat treated to a particular condition in accordance with the corresponding temperatures and times shown in Table 3, and cooled in
29、 air, shall have the properties shown in Tables 4 and 5 for that particular condition. Tensile and hardness tests shall be made in only the H900 precipitation heat treated condition, unless another precipitation heat treated condition is specified by purchaser. 38、.1.1 Reduction of area requirement does not apply to product under 0.375 inch (9.52 mm) in nominal thickness. 3.5.2.2 Hardness Shall be within a range shown in Table 5 for the corresponding precipitation heat treatment condition. Product shall not be rejected on the basis of hardness if the tensile
39、properties of 3.5.2.1 are acceptable, determined on specimens taken from the same sample as that with nonconforming hardness or from another sample with similar nonconforming hardness. 41、dition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the product. 3.6.1 Steel shall be premium aircraft-quality conforming to AMS2300. 42、latness tolerance for sheet shall be as specified for cold worked austenitic sheet in half-hard temper. 3.8 Production, distribution, and procurement of metal stock shall comply with AS6279. After production and certification to the specified requirements, plate within the size range of 1.1 may be c
43、ut in a plane perpendicular to the short transverse dimension by the distributor to supply plate of a thinner gage. The requirement for compliance with AS6279 becomes effective 04/01/2018. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for Inspection The producer of the product shall supply all
44、samples for producers tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory testing deemed necessary to ensure that the product conforms to specified requirements. 4.2 Classification of Tests 4.2.1 Acceptance
45、Tests The following requirements are acceptance tests and shall be performed on each heat or lot as applicable: 4.2.1.1 Composition (3.1) of each heat. 4.2.1.2 Tensile properties (3.5.1.1), hardness (3.5.1.2), and bending (3.5.1.3) of each lot as solution heat treated. 4.2.1.3 Tensile properties (3.
46、5.2.1) and hardness (3.5.2.2) of each lot after precipitation heat treatment to H900 condition or to another condition specified by purchaser. 4.2.1.4 Tolerances (3.7). 4.2.2 Periodic Tests The following requirements are periodic tests and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the producer u
47、nless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser: 4.2.2.1 Tensile properties (3.5.2.1) and hardness (3.5.2.2) after precipitation heat treatment to conditions other than H900 or the specified condition (see 3.5.2). 4.2.2.2 Frequency-severity cleanliness rating (3.6.1). 4.3 Sampling and Testing S
48、hall be in accordance with AMS2371. 4.4 Reports The producer of the product shall furnish with each shipment a report showing the producers name and country where the metal was melted (e.g., final melt in the case of metal processed by multiple melting operations) and the following results of tests
