SCOPE The performance requirements have been established for external automatic slack adjusters when tested to SAE J1462. 2. SAE J1462 External Automatic Slack Adjuster Test Procedure 3. OBJECTIVE To establish
8、 acceptable levels of performance for external automatic slack adjusters. 4. REQUIREMENTS External automatic slack adjusters must meet all of the following requirements to be in compliance with this document. All following requirements will be preceded with a number in parentheses. This number is a

10、.3) During any checking phase, the adjusting torque must not exceed the manufacturers recommended values of 4.1 by more than 19.8 Nm (175 in-lb) and there must be no structural fractures. 4.4 (7.2.4 and 8.6) If the shut-off device has been triggered, the adjuster does not comply with the performance
11、 requirements. 4.5 All Chamber strokes measured at 856 kPa (85 psi) in sections 10.9.5.3, 10.9.6.2, 10.9.7.2, 10.9.8.2, 10.9.9.5, 10.9.9.9, 10.9.9.13, and 10.9.9.17 of SAE J1462, shall not exceed 50.8 mm (2.00 in). 5.
