Requirements to the effect that the grouting operation must ensure the “complete filling of all voids with grout and provide an
15、evenly distributed contact area of at least 80 %“, are in conflict because if all voids are completely filled this imp1 ies 100 % contact with the baseplate whereas contact over at least 80 X of the area is acceptable. Where a document includes a clause in which such conflict occurs, the engineer sh
16、ould issue a correcting order early in the project. Free-f lowi ng grouts are normal l y not compacted.
