6、008 Edition 3 1 Dimensions of aluminium and copper strip, sheet, rod, bar, tube, channel and angle 1 Scope This standard specifies a method for the determination of the dimensions of aluminium and copper strip, sheet, rod, bar, tube, channel and angle. 2 Apparatus Any acceptable means of measurement
7、 that will give the required degree of accuracy to determine the linear dimensions, for example width, thickness, diameter, length and wall thickness of tubes, and to determine the radius of curvature of corners. 3 Test specimen Two specimens taken from each sample of the material, thoroughly cleane
8、d of all traces of surface scale, dust and grease. 4 Procedure 4.1 Take measurements of each dimension at not less than six different places along each 4 m length of the test specimen. 4.2 Where cut lengths of less than 4 m are involved, take not less than six measurements on the available length. 4.3 Record the average, minimum and maximum values so obtained.
