、 purchasers, facilitating interchangeability and improvement of products, and assisting the purchaser in selecting and obtaining with minimum delay the proper product for their particular need. The existence of such Standards and Publications shall not in any respect preclude any member or non-membe

Neither shall the existence of such Standards and Publications preclude their voluntary use by Non-TIA members, either domestically or internationally. Standards and Publications are adopted by TIA in

By such action, TIA does not assume any liability to any patent owner, nor does it assume any obligation whatever to parties adopting the Standard or Publication. This Standard does not purport to address all safety prob

、ion4 8 9 10 TIA-1078 2 1 1 PREFACE 2 For ISIM application for access to IMS services in cdma2000systems, the present 3 document specifies: 4 specific command parameters; 5 file structures; 6 contents of EFs (Elementary Files); 7 security functions; 8 application protocol to be used on the interface

、between UICC (ISIM) and Terminal. 9 This document addresses ISIM implementation on UICC only. 10 This is to ensure interoperability between an ISIM and Terminal independently of the 11 respective manufacturer, card issuer or operator. 12 The present document does not define any aspects related to th

、e administrative 13 management phase of the ISIM. Any internal technical realization of either the ISIM or 14 the Terminal is only specified where these are reflected over the interface. The present 15 document does not specify any of the security algorithms that may be used. 16 17 18 19 TIA-1078 3

、NOTES 1 1. The following verbal forms are used: “Shall” and “shall not” identify requirements to 2 be followed strictly to conform to the standard and from which no deviation is 3 permitted. “Should” and “should not” indicate that one of several possibilities is 4 recommended as particularly suitabl

、e, without mentioning or excluding others; that 5 a certain course of action is preferred but not necessarily required; or that (in the 6 negative form) a certain possibility or course of action is discouraged but not 7 prohibited. “May” and “need not” indicate a course of action permissible within

、the 8 limits of the standard. “Can” and “cannot” are used for statements of possibility and 9 capability, whether material, physical, or causal. 10 2. Footnotes appear at various points in this specification to elaborate and to further 11 clarify items discussed in the body of the specification. 12

、3. Unless indicated otherwise, this document presents numbers in decimal form. 13 Binary numbers are distinguished in the text by the use of single quotation marks. 14 In some tables, binary values may appear without single quotation marks if table 15 notation clearly specifies that values are binar

、y. The character x is used to 16 represent a bit of unspecified value. For example xxx00010 represents any 8-bit 17 binary value such that the least significant five bits equal 00010. 18 Hexadecimal numbers (base 16) are distinguished in the text by use of the form 0xh-19 h where hh represents a str

、ing of hexadecimal digits. For example, 0x2fa1 20 represents a number whose binary value is 0010111110100001 and whose decimal 21 value is 12193. Note that the exact number of bits in the binary representation of a 22 hexadecimal number strictly depends upon the implementation requirements for 23 th

、e variable being represented. 24 4. “Base station” refers to the functions performed on the fixed network, which are 25 typically distributed among a cell, a sector of a cell, and a mobile communications 26 switching center. 27 28 TIA-1078 4 2 REFERENCES 1 2 The following standards are referenced in
