25、S) 11 CDMA PACKET DATA SERVICE (C-PDS)C-PDS shall allow communication services to access private or public Packet DataNetworks (PDNs) (e.g., Internet or Intranets) using an air interface provided by the wirelessservice provider. C-PDS shall also allow a mobile station to remain engaged in a PacketDa

26、ta session when moving between wireless systems.C-PDS usage requires a wireless user to register separately with both the wireless serviceprovider and the Packet Data network access provider, even though these providers may bethe same.C-PDSs are distinguished in two general categories of Quality of

27、Service (QoS), as:a. Non-Assured Services: Services that are not particularly sensitive to minimum data rate, delay, orerror rate.b. Assured Services: Services for which there is a sensitivity to some combination of guaranteedminimum data rate, delay, or data loss rate.C-PDSs shall allow for the sub

28、scription to: a. Packet Data Service,b. Circuit Service or Packet Data Service (i.e., non-simultaneous), andc. Simultaneous Circuit Service and Packet Data Service.When there is a packet data capable MS that supports simultaneous services, C-PDS maybe supported with simultaneous voice or circuit bea

29、rer services. This implies that a user ofa circuit service (voice or data) shall be able to establish, maintain, and or terminate a C-PDS while maintaining the circuit call. A user with an active Packet Data session shall beable to establish, receive, maintain, and or terminate a circuit service (vo

30、ice or data) whilemaintaining the packet data session. A user with a dormant Packet Data session shall beable to establish, receive, maintain, and or terminate a circuit service (voice or data) whilemaintaining the packet data session. A user with a circuit call shall be able to transition asimultan

31、eous packet session between the dormant and active states as managed by theRadio Network (RN).Applicability to Telecommunications ServicesC-PDS is a new telecommunications service and is independent of othertelecommunications services such as voice and circuit data.Copyright Telecommunications Indus

33、CDMA Packet Data Service (C-PDS)21.1 Normal Procedures With Successful OutcomeAuthorizationC-PDS may be generally available or may be provided after pre-arrangement with thewireless service provider. In addition, C-PDS may require subscription to a private orpublic PDN, independent of subscription t

34、o wireless service. This is done with existingInternet techniques. C-PDS has subscription options De AuthorizationC-PDS may be withdrawn at the subscribers request or for administrative reasons.RegistrationC-PDS shall be registered upon authorization. Included in the registration are QoS valuesthat

35、support the users priority for both assured and non-assured services as selected by theuser.De-RegistrationC-PDS shall be de-registered upon de-authorization.ActivationC-PDS shall be activated upon authorization.De-ActivationC-PDS shall be de-activated upon de-authorization.InvocationThe MS user may

36、 invoke C-PDS at any time following successful registration with thewireless service provider and the preferred PDN. The appropriately authorized MS usershall be able to invoke:a. Packet Data Service,b. Circuit Service or Packet Data Service (i.e., non-simultaneous), orc. Simultaneous Circuit Servic

MS Originated C-PDS: A wireless user may originate a C-PDS at any time after being successfullyregistered with the wireless service provider and the preferre

40、d PDN.b. MS Terminated C-PDS: Data may be sent from the PDN to a wireless user at any time afterregistration with the wireless service provider and the PDN.c. Registration: Once a basic TIA/EIA-41registration is completed, the user shall originate apacket session and establish PPP and either Mobile

41、IP or Simple IP.d. De-Registration: Users may de-register with the packet data network by closing their PPPsession or, terminating their Mobile IP session by registering a lifetime ofzero, independent of their registration on the TIA/EIA-41network.Call Detail RecordWireless service providers should

42、record resource usage in call detail records for the PacketData session.
