This does not apply to supplycords having a cross-linked PVC sheath (code designation 60245 IEC 87 or code designation 60245 IEC88).NOTE 101 Polyvinyl chloride cords are not allowed for CORDLESS IRONS that may also be directly connected to the supply

5、mainsduring ironing.25.7DV.1 D2 Modification of Delete the second paragraph and note 101 of 25.7 of the part2 by replacement with the following:Polyvinyl chloride sheathed cord shall not be used.25.7DV.2 D2 Replacement of 25.7 of the UL part 1:A supply cord shall be Type HPD, HPN, HS, HSJ, HSJO, HSO

6、, or an equivalent heatercord. For STANDS of CORDLESS IRONS and for the separate water reservoir or boiler ofSTEAM IRONS, where the supply cord is not likely to touch surfaces exceeding 121Cduring Heating test of 11, the cord may be Type SJ, SJO, SJT, or an equivalent cord typefor commercial type; a

7、nd Type SJ, SJO, SJT, SPT-2, SVT or an equivalent cord type forhousehold type.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:Type SJ, SJO, SJT, SPT-2, SVT, or equivalent cord types have been allowed for similar heating appliancestandard when the cord is not likely to touch surfaces exceeding 121C under Table 12.3 of UL 499

8、. Ironis generally recessed from top edges of stands of cordless irons and for the separate water reservoir orboiler of steam irons. If the power cord is not likely to touch iron and adjacent surface temperature of standis not high, Type SJ, SJO, SJT, SPT-2, SVT, cords would be considered acceptable

9、. Therefore, 25.7.DV.1is modified to delete the second paragraph and its related note. In addition, 25.7DV.2 was updated tospecify the allowable cord types for a stand of a cordless iron or a separate water reservoir or boiler of asteam iron when the surface temperatures do not exceed 121C.UL COPYRI
