9、ot intended for use in circuits rated over 32 VDC.2 Units of Measurement2.1 Values stated without parentheses are the requirement. Values in parentheses are explanatory orapproximate information.3 Components3.1 Except as indicated in 3.2, a component of a value covered by this outline shall comply w

10、ith therequirements for that component.3.2 A component need not comply with a specific requirement that:a) Involves a feature or characteristic not needed in the application of the component in thevalue covered by this outline, orb) Is superseded by a requirement in this outline.3.3 A component shal

11、l be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions ofuse.3.4 Specific components are incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities.Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certain temperatures notexceedin

Accordingly, this Outline is compris

14、ed of four parts:Part I Applies to all blade type automotive fuses covered by this OutlinePart II Applies to all SAE J1284 style fusesPart III Applies to all SAE J2077 style fusesPart IV Applies to all SAE J1888 style fusesPART I ALL FUSESCONSTRUCTION6 Materials6.1 The fuses shall have transparent n

15、on-conductive bodies capable of withstanding the vehicleenvironmental conditions described in the corresponding performance sections of this Outline.6.2 The terminals shall be of non-ferrous materials and shall be plated with nickel, cadmium or othermaterial having equivalent electrical and corrosio

16、n protection properties6.3 The fuse elements shall be clearly visible through the non-conductive body.PERFORMANCE7 General7.1 The following tests shall be conducted at an ambient temperature between 19 29C (66.2 84.2F),unless otherwise indicated, with the fuses in the horizontal position.7.2 A minim

17、um of five fuses, 10 fuses for the short circuit test, at each current rating shall be subjectedto the following tests.7.3 Fuses shall be mounted horizontally in a suitable fuseholder as appropriate for the type of fuse:a) The test fixture as described in SAE Standard J1284, Blade Type Automotive Fu

19、N WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL8 Carrying Capacity Test8.1 General8.1.1 The fuses shall continuously carry the value of current specified in the Sections 16, 22 and 28, asappropriate for the fuse type.8.1.2 It is assumed that a fuse will carry the current continuously when it has carried the current lo

20、ngenough to produce constant temperatures.8.1.3 The temperature is to be considered constant when three successive readings taken at intervals ofnot less than 10 minutes apart indicate no rise in temperature.8.2 Acceptance criteria8.2.1 The fuse shall not open.8.2.2 The fuse shall remain intact.8.2.

21、3 There shall be no deformation of the fuse body.8.2.4 The fuse markings shall remain legible.9 Overload Test9.1 General9.1.1 The fuses shall operate according to the performance limits specified in Sections 17, 23 and 29, asappropriate for the fuse type.9.2 Acceptance criteria9.2.1 There shall be n

23、REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM UL10 Current Cycling Test10.1 General10.1.1 Fuses shall be subjected to a 250,000-cycle load test.10.1.2 The test voltage shall be any convenient voltage, up to and including 32 VDC10.1.3 The test current shall be as specified in the Sections 18, 2

24、4 and 30, as appropriate for the fusetype.10.1.4 Cycling is to consist of 3 cycles per minute at a 50 percent duty cycle.10.2 Acceptance criteria10.2.1 The fuse shall not open.10.2.2 The fuse shall remain intact.10.2.3 There shall be no deformation of the fuse body.10.2.4 The fuse markings shall rem

25、ain legible.10.2.5 Following the cycling, the fuses are to be subjected to the Carrying Capacity Test, Section 8, andOverload Test, Section 9.11 Accelerated Aging11.1 The fuses shall be subjected to 15 cycles unenergized as follows:a) 16 hours at 95-99 percent relative humidity and 37 1C (98.6 2F)b)

26、 2 hours at -40 1C (-40 2F)c) 2 hours at 70 1C (158 2F)d) 4 hours at room ambient11.2 The fuses shall be placed in a tray with the blades down. Samples shall remain in the humiditychamber when testing cannot be completed in a 24-hour period.11.3 Following the cycling, the fuses are to be subjected t

The time constant of the test circuit shall not be less than 2.5 ms.12.2 Acceptance criteria12.2.1 There shall be no re-establishment of current (restrike).12.2.2 The fuse shall not emit molten metal.12.2.3 The cotton indicato
