7、MISSION FROM ULINTRODUCTION1 Scope1.1 These requirements cover molded-case circuit breakers and molded-case switches rated greater than250 V dc but no greater than 1500 V dc and intended for use with battery power supplies (BPS) whichmay be wired with multiple poles in series, such as may be used in
8、 uninterruptible power supplies or forenergy storage in renewable energy systems. These devices are intended for use in accordance with theNational Electrical Code (NEC), ANSI/NFPA 70.1.2 A circuit breaker intended for use with battery power supplies shall comply with the applicablerequirements in t
9、he Standard for Molded-Case Circuit Breakers, Molded-Case Switches andCircuit-Breaker Enclosures, UL 489, hereafter referred to as UL 489, except as modified or supplementedby this Outline.1.3 These requirements do not cover circuit breakers rated 250 V dc or less.2 General2.1 Components2.1.1 Except
10、 as indicated in 2.1.2, a component of a product covered by this Outline shall comply withthe requirements for that component.2.1.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirement that:a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in thepr

16、 BPS CIRCUIT BREAKER shall be subjected to all of the applicable calibration and recalibration tests,including the adjustable instantaneous response calibration test specified in UL 489, Section 7.1.2.5.1.5 Overload Test5.1 The BPS CIRCUIT BREAKER shall be subjected to the overload test specified in
17、 UL 489, Section 7.1.3, atthe maximum rated voltage specified in Table 7.1. 22、in UL 489,Section 7.1.9.9 High Available Fault Current Test9.1 The BPS CIRCUIT BREAKER may be subjected to the high-available-fault-current tests specified in UL 489,Section 7.1.11. The interrupting capacity test specified in UL 489, Section 7.1.11.3.1, shall be conductedat the nominal voltage ratin
23、g specified in Table 7.1.RATINGS10 General10.1 BPS CIRCUIT BREAKERS shall be rated for one of the nominal and maximum dc voltages indicated in Table7.1.MARKINGS11 General11.1 In addition to the following requirements, a BPS CIRCUIT BREAKER shall be provided with all the applicablerequired markings s
24、pecified in the marking sections of UL 489.11.2 The markings required in 11.3 11.6 shall be visible without disassembling or removing the deviceand shall be visible when the trim or cover of the enclosure is removed, and may be visible with the trimor cover in place.11.3 A BPS CIRCUIT BREAKER shall
25、be marked with the nominal and maximum dc voltage rating.11.4 A BPS CIRCUIT BREAKER shall be marked with a wiring diagram indicating the proper connections of thepoles in series.11.5 A BPS CIRCUIT BREAKER shall be marked to indicate it is intended for use on ungrounded systems only.11.6 A BPS CIRCUI
