10、ERMISSION FROM ULINTRODUCTION1 Scope1.1 These requirements cover oxygen reduction fire protection system units, intended to separate oxygenand nitrogen from ordinary air to produce a flux of reduced-oxygen (elevated nitrogen) air for limiting thepotential for ignition of Class A and Class B fires an

11、d fire spread of Class A combustibles in a protectedvolume.1.2 These requirements apply to oxygen reduction fire protection system units intended for design,installation, operation and maintenance in accordance with Fixed firefighting systems Oxygen reductionsystems Design, installation, planning an

12、d maintenance, prEN 16750. The oxygen reduction fireprotection system units typically include equipment for compression, high pressure storage, distributionand discharging of gases, control of the enclosed space environment, electronic control, andcommunication. The system units may contain other an

13、cillary equipment related to the functioning of theoxygen reduction fire protection system units. These requirements only apply to nitrogen based oxygenreduction fire protection system units. In addition, these requirements do not apply to oxygen reductionfire protection system units intended for us

14、e in applications such as explosion suppression, explosionprevention, fire suppression using gaseous extinguishing agents, and non-fire protection reduced oxygenatmospheres (e.g., aviator training, food preservation).1.3 The design, installation, operation and maintenance of these oxygen reduction f

15、ire protection systemunits shall comply with regulations in the local jurisdiction where the system will be installed.1.4 Oxygen reduction fire protection system units shall meet the requirements specified herein.2 Components2.1 Except as indicated in 2.2, a component of a product covered by this Ou

16、tline shall comply with therequirements for that component.2.2 A component is not required to comply with a specific requirement that:a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in theproduct covered by this Outline, orb) Is superseded by a requirement in

17、 this Outline.2.3 A component shall be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions ofuse.2.4 Specific components are incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities.Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such a

40、E Actions performed upon the receipt of a signal.a) Alarm Response The response to the receipt of an alarm signal.b) Pre-Alarm Response The response to the receipt of a pre-alarm signal.c) Supervisory Response The response to the receipt of a supervisory signal.d) System Response An action taken by

48、ntsspecified in the Standard for Rotating Electrical Machines General Requirements, UL 1004-1.6.4 Control panel assemblies used to provide feedback and control of the compressor units shall complywith the requirements specified in the Standard for Industrial Control Panels, UL 508A.6.5 The compresso

49、r shall draw its air supply from within the operating criteria allowed by themanufacturer of the compressor.
