10、 as ASME A112.1.2, butthere was not a national standard specifically directed toward fittings that included air gaps.In response to requests to modify ASME A112.1.2 to specifically cover fittings with airgaps, the ASME A112 Main Committee determined that the better course was to developa separate st

11、andard for this purpose. A Project Team was created, and this Standard is theresult of that work.Suggestions for improvement of this Standard are welcomed. 14、 L/min for flow rated from greaterthan 10 gpm (37.85 L/min) up to 20 gpm (75.70 L/min); and 5 gpm (18.92 L/min) for flow rated greaterthan 20 gpm (75.70 L/min).5.3.2 Any entrance of water into the sight tube shallbe cause for rejection of the device.5.4 Back Pressure Test5.4.1 This test shall be con

15、ducted on air gap fittingswhich are rated by their manufacturer to protect againstbackflow into the outlet of the fitting. With the fittinginstalled in accordance with the manufacturers installa-tion instructions, the manufacturers maximum ratedback pressure or backflow shall be applied. The flowsha

16、ll be maintained at least 20 sec after the height ofback flowing water stabilizes. Verify that during thistest that the water does not rise above the manufacturerscritical level mark on the fitting.35.4.2 Water above the critical level mark shall because for rejection of the fitting.6 MARKINGSAir ga

17、p fittings shall be permanently marked withthe following information:(a) the manufacturers name or trademark.(b) the manufacturers model number.(c) the manufacturers critical level mark.(d) “inlet” or “outlet” or flow direction. If the fittinghas multiple inlets, all inlets shall be marked.7 INSTALL

18、ATION INSTRUCTIONSInstallation instructions that describe the proper instal-lation of the fitting with respect to the critical leveland to the orientation required for the fitting to complywith the performance tests of Section 5 shall be providedwith the fitting. Manufacturers literature shall inclu
