Equally important, survey pers
2、onnel were not required to rappel the vertical rock walls to obtain survey measurements. Surveyors can set up the scanner at a safe location and collect millions of accurate 3D points referred to as a “point cloud.” The digital point cloud can be analyzed, manipulated, and modeled conveniently in th
3、e office. Conventional surveys only capture a fraction of the points collected by HDS and can take up to twice as long to collect. Survey crew return site visits are eliminated because the entire project area is captured accurately in 3D the first time. PRODUCTION SR 322 Structure #207 Port Matilda,

The detailed scans were studied by PennDOT along with Pennsylvania State University to determine movement of all bridge components during construction compared to moveme
5、nts calculated by traditional computer methods. The study costs would have been prohibitive, virtually impossible, and not as accurate using conventional survey methods.
