12、 1) 3 General requirements 3.1 otherwise agreed between manufacturer and purchaser. The hydrogen content of a product shall be determined in the delivery condition unless 3.2 The test pieces shall be cut so as to avoid contamination. Clean cutting tools shall be used. Abrasive wheel cutting and cutt
13、ing fluids are permissible provided they are applied under controlled conditions. 3.3 Cutting of the hydrogen analysis sample by laboratory personnel shall be done as far as possible using clean dry cutting tools. At this stage, abrasive cutting and cutting fluids are to be avaided unless it can be
14、demonstrated that the technique used does not significantly affect the analysis results. 4 Location of test pieces Since hydrogen is more highly concentrated in zones close to the surface, the location of the test piece shall ensure that an analysis sample representative of the product is taken at a
15、 defined location related to the product surface; or if that surface remains in the finished part it shall include the product surface. 1) Published as AECMA Prestandard at the date of publication of this standard Copyright Association Europeene des Constructeurs de Materiel Aerospatial Provided by
