4、d checklistscontaining information and instructions for loading, securing loads and of f - loading car go aircraft, includinghandling of airdrop loads and nuclear weapons car go. Certain provisions of this specification (see 3.2.5 a. )are the subject of air standardization agreement ASCC AIR STD 44/

Unless otherwise noted herein or in the contract, in the event of a conflictbetween the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takesprecedence. Nothing in this document, however , supersedes applicable laws

18、and regulations unless aspecific exemption has been obtained.3 REQUIREMENTS3.1 D e v e l o p m e n t a n d p r e p a r a t i o n . The general manner of development and preparation for manuals andchecklists shall be in accordance with MIL - STD - 38784 and MIL - PRF - 5096.3.1.1 F o r m a t . Format

19、 shall be in accordance with the requirements of MIL - STD - 38784. Unless otherwisespecified by the acquiring activity , chapters and sections shall be arranged as identified herein ( 6.2 ).3.1.2 T e x t c o n t e n t s . The manuals shall contain all essential information and instructions for load

20、ing, securingloads, and of f - loading car go aircraft. T ypical loads will consist of vehicles, weapons, heavy equipment,bombs, warheads, missiles, aircraft, troops, litters, containers, airdrop modular platforms, and general car go,palletized and unpalletized. The manuals shall contain only handli

21、ng procedures and associated informationused when the aircraft is on the ground. Inflight procedures shall not be included in the manuals.3.1.3 I l l u s t r a t i o n s a n d t a b l e s . In addition to those specified herein, illustrations (including charts, diagrams,etc.) and tables which distin

22、ctly contribute to the clarity and understanding of instructions and proceduresshall be used. Illustrations and tables for each chapter shall be placed at the end of the chapter followingthe text. Illustrations shall be grouped together followed by the tables.3.2 L o a d i n g I n s t r u c t i o n

23、s m a n u a l . The Loading Instructions manual shall be arranged as follows. 25、xcept theForeword/Preface/Introduction requirements of MIL - STD - 38784 shall be contained in Chapter 1, Introduction.3.2.2 C h a p t e r 1 I n t r o d u c t i o n . Chapter 1 shall state the type of aircraft, series, and model designation andshall briefly describe the aircraft covered by the manua

26、l. It shall also provide the following information.3.2.2.1 P u r p o s e o f m a n u a l . The following shall be included as a standard paragraph to cover theintended purpose of the manual:“The purpose of this manual is to provide car go handling personnel with suf ficient informationand data to lo

27、ad, secure, and of f - load all types of car go ef ficiently and safely and to explainthe restrictions governing these operations. The following brief chapter descriptions shall be included as standardparagraphs in Chapter 1:a. “Chapter 2 Description of Aircraft Features. This chapter presents a general description of thecar go compartmen

29、t, including profile and cross sections, car go loading ramp (where applicable),entrances and exits, car go floor , roller conveyors and guides, restraint rails (where applicable),tiedown fittings, seat and litter provisions, car go loading aids, and storage provisions forall car go loading aids and

30、 tiedown devices.”b. “Chapter 3 Aircraft Configuration. This chapter presents aircraft preparation instructions withrespect to aircraft car go loading, airdrop provisions and personnel equipment.”c. “Chapter 4 General Procedures. This chapter contains instructions relative to load preplanning,loadin

31、g, postloading, and of f - loading procedures to include checklist.”d. “Chapter 5 Emer gency Procedures. This chapter describes all ground preparations requiredfor car go emer gency procedures.”e. “Chapter 6 Specific Procedures. This chapter contains all necessary instructions relative topreloading,

32、 loading, postloading, preflight, and of f - loading procedures for car go which, due tophysical characteristics, cannot be handled in accordance with the general procedures of chapter4 and therefore requires special handling.”f. “Chapter 7 Airdrop Procedures. This chapter presents instructions rela

33、tive to the proceduresrequired for airdrop of personnel and car go.”3.2.3 C h a p t e r 2 D e s c r i p t i o n o f a i r c r a f t f e a t u r e s . Chapter 2 shall contain the following information, in theorder specified, with necessary explanatory notes, text, and figures.a. General aircraft desc

34、ription.b. Aircraft car go area.c. Aircraft car go aids.3.2.3.1 G e n e r a l A i r c r a f t d e s c r i p t i o n . A general description of the aircraft and of the aircraft car go, troopcarrying, litter carrying, and airdrop capabilities shall be included. A brief description of safety beltsand h

35、arnesses shall also be included.3.2.3.2 A i r c r a f t c a r g o a r e a . A general description of the aircraft car go area shall be provided, including, butnot limited to, the following:a. Car go compartment. Envelope profile and cross sectional drawings, showing all dimensions ininches and compa

36、rtment identification by letter , shall be provided. Critical dimensions which limitfull use of the car go compartment shall also be provided. Coverage shall include informationpertaining to location of electrical outlets and type of electrical power supplied in the car gocompartment as well as brie

37、f coverage of communication systems and lighting equipment whichmay be used during car go loading and of f - loading. Information on the location, type, anddimensions of each car go compartment overboard vent shall be provided.b. Car go area floors. A description shall be given of the main car go fl

38、oors, treadways (whenrequired), and maneuvering areas. Plan views of the car go floor , showing locations of tiedownfittings, roller conveyors, and restraint/guide rails shall also be included.c. Car go loading ramps. Where applicable, description of all parts of the aircraft ramp system(basic ramps

39、, ramp extensions and ramp toes) shall be provided. This shall include the relativeangles between system components and between the system, the ground and the car go floor .Plan views of the ramp system, showing the location of tiedown fittings, roller conveyors, andrestraint/guide rails and locks s

40、hall also be included.d. Personnel and troop provisions and access areas. Personnel and troop entrance and exit doorsshall be identified and described with any pertinent features included. A plan view of troopseating arrangement and litter provisions shall be included. A general description of comfo

41、rtprovisions shall also be included. Car go doors shall be identified and any pertinent features described, includi

42、nglimiting dimensions.f. Car go tiedown fittings. Car go tiedown fittings shall be described listing type, strength ratings(specify design limit or ultimate), and location in the car go area, including stowage locations,when applicable. Identifying color codes and markings shall be explained.3.2.3.3

Where applicable, a description of aircraft car go loading and of f - loading aids,and car go securing equipment shall include, but not be limited to, the following:a. Auxiliary ramps/bridges.b. 45、n the aircraft.3.2.4 C h a p t e r 3 A i r c r a f t c o n fi g u r a t i o n . This chapter shall be arranged to present all informationnecessary for aircraft preparation, functional checks and step - by - step installation instructions for thefollowing aircraft equipment:a. T ail supports, ramps,

46、and doors.b. Restraint rails and roller conveyors.c. Sidewall and centerline seats.d. Stanchion kit.e. Litter provisions.f. Rigid aft or forward facing seats, troop seats, safety belts, and harnesses.g. Oxygen system.h. Crane and winch.i. Load assist devices.j. Support jacks.k. Airdrop systems insta

47、llation.l. Car go tiedown fittings.3.2.5 C h a p t e r 4 G e n e r a l p r o c e d u r e s . This chapter shall contain general instructions relative to loadpreplanning/planning, loading, postloading, of f - loading, and winching/hoisting procedures (charts, scales,drawings, etc.). The data and info

48、rmation presented in this chapter shall pertain to car go which can beloaded and transported in the aircraft without the use of special handling procedures such as thosediscussed in 3.2.7 .
