2、wn manuals 1. This specification is approved for use within the Department of the Air Force, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Depart- ment of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers the requirements for the preparatin .of source data for inclusion in non

3、-nuclear munitions disgosa1 procedures manuals, loading procedures manuals and posi- tioning and tiedown manuals, 2. A P P L I CAB L E D OC UM EN T S 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications. Unless otherwise specified, the following specifications of the issue listed in that issue of the Depa

4、rtment of Defense Index of Specifications and: Standards (DoDISS) speci- fied i-the solicitation, form a part of this specification to the exte.nt specified herein. 9、 of this specification shall take precedence, 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 General Requirements. Requirements listed below are applicable to all source data procurements, Data will include ail information pertinent to the procedures and munitions being procured but will not repeat information presently print

10、ed in the general manuals. Type of information and format will be that of the applicable manual(s), 3.1.1 Preparation, The text shall be prepared in manuscript form, typewritten on bond paper, double-spaced, 8.5 by 11 inch 121.624 by 27.94 centimeters (CM) (approximate)-page size. A title page and l

11、ist of effective pages are not required. The coverof the manuscript shall be similar to Figure 1. The text shall be suit- able for office machine type reproduction, 3.1.2 Illustrations. Illustrations and diagrams shall be prepared in accordance with MIL-M-38784, Illustrations shall supplement the te

Data shall pertain to the items specified in the contract and shall include all information and procedures necessary to establish a complete progress

13、ive program for the applicable function of the item(s) to which the manuscript pertains. Information and procedures shall be based on the manufacturers recommendations and service experience. Ali available information shall be used to determine the functional criteria of the item(s1. Procedures shal

14、l be stated tersely but completely in language understandable to munitions personnel. Warnings, cautions, and notes will be included as necessary in accordance with MIL-M-38784. 3.3 Arrangement of Disposal Procedures Data. 3.3.1 Section I. Data shall provide a list of protective equip- ment and proc

15、edures necessary to conduct a.safe disposal operation. Any safety requirement necessary for the protection of personnel will be included in the recommended disposal method as a WARNING immediately preceding the procedural step to which it applies (see MIL-M-38784). Any requirement not presently list

16、ed in TO llA-1-42 will be described fully and illustrated. (if necessary). 3.3.2 Section II, Methods of Disposal. Data shall provide recommended method(s) of disposal of non-nuclear munitions. Disposal method(s) shall provide step-by-step instructions for disposal by burning, detonation, static f.ir

17、ing and/or demili- tarization. (Refer to TO llA-1-42, Section III, for definition of various disposal methods). - 3.3.2.1 Disposal by Burning. Disposal by burning is one of the most common methods of disposal and when recommended shall specify ise of pit-trench, burn on the ground surface, or in a f

18、urnace. 3.3.2.2 Disposal by Detonation. Disposal by detonation shall include amount and type of explosive charge necessary to com- pletely destroy the item. Procedural steps shall inc1ud.e exact placement of the recommended charge, method of ignition, recom- mended quantity of items to be disposed o

19、f at one time, and placement of the items; i.e., in a pit, on the surface, end-to- end, stacked, single/rnultiple layer, etc. - - 3.3.3 Disassembly Procedures. If an item can be disassembled, disassembly procedures will be given. Disposal procedures for each disassembled explosive component will be

20、given. A disposal method for the complete end item ill be required in the event an end item cannot be disassembled due to rust or damage. 21、AF) 3.4 Arrangement of Aircraft Loading Procedures Data. -. v Y 3.4.1 Nonnuclear Munitions Loading Standard Data Packages, Approved standard data packages contain descriptive information, illustrations and procedural steps required for preparation of nonnuclear munitions loading manuals. Typical che

22、cklist procedures are a part of the standard data packages. Use of standard data packages shall be mandatory. 3.4.2 Warnings, cautions, notes. Warnings, cautions, and notes shall be prepared and presented in accordance with the require- ments of MIL-M-38784. 3.4.3 Nomenclature. Nomenclature of switc

23、hes and other controls shall be as it appears on the decals, Munition nomenclature used as titles shall be the official nomenclature as furnished by the acquiring activity. Nomenclature of Support Equipment (SE) and other type equipment will be the official assigned nomenclature consisting of the it

24、em name and type designation. Munition and SE nomenclature used elsewhere in the text shall be common terminology. 3.4.4 Standardization of terms for procedural steps. Use of grammatical phrases xi11 be left to the discretion of the acquir- .- ing activity. Once a phrase, such as: “check that“, “ins

25、ure tLat“, “lift“, “raise“, etc, has been selected, that phrase shall remain the same throughout the text! 3.4. 5 Standardization -_. of terms “if applicable“ and “if requiredtt. The term “if required“ shall not be used. The term “if applica- _ ble“ should only be used when the completion of the pro

26、cedural step may or may not be required due to configuration or load condit ion. 3.4.6 Prefix. Procedural steps within the text that are applica- ble to a specific item shall be prefixed for identification. 3.47 Arrangement of basic information procedures data,. The text shall be arranged as follows

The cover page shall confo

28、rm to figure 1. The Table of Contents, List of Illustrations. List,of Tables, shall conform to MIL-M-3 8784. 3.4.7.1.1 Introduction. The introduction shall be in accordance with MIL-M-38784 and shall provide a brief explanation of the purpose or scope of the source data. The words “shallf1, “will“,

29、“should“, and “may“, as used in the manual, shall be defined (refer to MIL-M-387841, and any other relevant information that will contribute directly to the use of the source data shall be included. 3.4.7.2 Section I, Support Equipment (SE) Description, This section shall describe and illustrate all

30、 special tools and specific items developed for handling, testing, and loading of equipment. I 3.4.7.3 Section II, Munition Description. This section shall describe and illustrate item(s), system(s) or component(s). The following data shall be included as applicable; weight, dimensions, components,

31、suspension requirements, fuzing options, model differences, integral safety features, functional description. 3.4.7.3.1 Bomb Fuzes. Descriptive data on bomb fuzes shall include a brief descriptionand illustration of the fuze. The dai-a shall also include functional type, safety devices, armed/ safe

32、indications, action, arming delays and functioning delays. 3.4.7.4 Identification of items. The official nomenclature and part number of items shall be listed one time in the text. Further identification shall be in short descriptive form. Use of part numbers shall be held to an absolute minimum and

33、 used only when no other means of positive identification will suffice. The p,rinciple noun shall be consistent with those in Federal Stock Lists (FSL), if available. Otherwise, as indicated on top assembly drawings. - 3.4.8 Arrangement of loading procedures data. Refer to an approved standard-data

34、package on a similar munition for data arrangement and format. The text shall be arranged as follows: Front Matter Cover Page Table of Contents List of Illustrations (when apolicable) List of Tables (when applicable) Introduction Emergency Procedures Specific Safety Requirements Loading Procedures M

36、ading Fuze Removal (if applicable) Unloading 3.4.8.1 Front matter. The front matter shall be prepared in accordance with MIL-M-38784, _- 3.4.8.1.1 Emergency Procedures. Emergency procedures shall be prefaced by a brief explanation of actions to be accomplished by the loading crew in case of fire or

37、other emergency. This data shall contain the time the munition can be expected to function after beingenveloped by flames. Pages of emergency procedures shall be -marked in accordance with the requirements of MIL-8-38784. 3.4.8.1.2 Specific Safety Requirements. The data shall provide a.11 specific s

38、afety requirements pertaining to the loading of the muiit ion, 3.4.8.2 Loading Procedures, Data shall be provided as follows. 3.4.8.2,l Munitions preparation. This paragraph, applicable to a single munition, multiple rack and preloaded accessories, shall include steps required to inspect and prepare

39、 each munition (including components). This procedure shall include steps r.equired to assemble and install authorized fuzes prior to munitions loading. Procedures shall be included to verify the safety of each fuzed munition, All steps shall be singular. 3.4.8.2.2 Loading. This paragraph shall incl

40、ude steps required to load the munition. All steps shall be singular. 3.4.8.2.3 - Fuzing. This paragraph shall include steps required to check prefuzed munitions and install those fuzes that are not authorized to be installed prior to loading munition, All steps shall be singular. 3.4.8.2.4 Post Loa

41、ding. This paragraph shall provide steps required to assure the compatability and safety of the munitions. 6 Licensed by Information Handling Services3.4.8.2.5 Cartridge installation. The following steps are applicable: 1. Perform required stray voltage check(s). 2. Check impulse cartridges for serv

42、iceability. 3. Install impulse cartridges. All steps shall be plural. The following note shall precede the cartridge installation steps. I I NOTE Omit step 1 if impulse cartridges are to be installed as part of the loading and if a complete stray voltage check was performed during aircraft preparati

43、on or functional check, and provided no additional power has been applied to the aircraft. 3.4.8.2.6 Postloading inspection. This paragraph shall include steps required to insure that required safety devices are installed, bombs and non-nuclear fuzes are installed properly, and nonnuclear fuze safet

44、y devices have been removed or installed as required. All steps shall be plural. 3.L.8.2.7 Delayed flight or alert. This paragraph shall include procedural steps required for safing of aircraft accessories, munitions, and impulse cartridges. Immediately following the mandatory procedures, a noie sha

This paragraph shall include procedural steps for optional readiness conEigurations. All steps shall be plural, 3.4.8.2.8 Immediately prior to launch. This paragraph shall i

This paragraph shall include essential steps required to safe the munitions and install required safety devices, All steps shall be plural, The following note shall precede steps concerning the safing of munitions. NOTE Ommision of the following step

48、(s) may be authorized by iocal Commander. 3.4.8.3.2 Preunloading. This paragraph shall include steps and checks required to prepare the munition of unloading. All steps required to safe the munitions shall be repeated in this paragraph. All steps shall be plural. 3.4.8.3.3 Fuze removal. This paragra

49、ph shall include steps required to safe and to remove the fuze from the munition. All steps shall be singular. The following note shal-l precede any specified fuze type(s that may remain installed with the approval of the local Commander. NOTE With Local Commander approval, the following fuzes may remain installed. 3.4.8.3.4 Unloading. This paragraph shall include steps required to unload the munitions from the aircraft. All steps shall be singular. 3.5 Arrangement of Positioning and Tiedown Data. 3.5.1 Section I, Tiedown Family - Groups
