Bearings The wing assembly consists of a fixed aerodynamic surface (the wing) to which is attached, by means of a canted damm hinge, a mova

19、ble aerodynamic surface (the rolleron). by the missile slipstream. The rolleron is actuated by a gyroscope wheel which is driven The action of the rolleron minimizes missile roll. The damper assembly provides a damping and stabilizing action on the rolleron and basically is a hydraulically damped hi

20、nge. The cager is a longitudinal slot in the base of the rolleron assembly which seats on the wing plate, Its function is to hold the rolleron in a neutral position until missile launch. During missile launch, inertia forces, re- sulting from missile acceleration, cause the rolleron to move up the d

21、amper shaft until the slot clears the wing plate releasing the rolleron and allowing the rolleron to pivot about the damper axis. The bearings shall be nonseparable ball bearing assemblies with an outer ring land-riding retainer, having straight through ball pockets (no ledge). Open side ball pocket

23、oduction testing. The preproduction sample shall be manufactured using the same procedures that will be used for production. approval of the preproduction sample shall be at the contractors risk. Upon completion of testing, all sample assemblies shall be delivered with a certified final report to th

The rolleron bearings used in the preproduction sample shall be of the same quality as the bearings used in the production lots and shall be procured from the same manufacturer. Should it be deemed desirable to use bearings supplied by an alternate manufacturer, it shall be man

25、datory to test a separate preproduction sample which contains these alternate bearings. 3.3. Bearing characteristics. 3.3.1 Bearing physical characteristics. Each

27、 bearing shall contain eight 0.1406 diameter balls on a 0.435 - -t 0.005 inch diameter pitch circle. 3.3.1.1.2 Radial clearance. side diameter (OD) and the shield shall be between 0.001 and 0.005 inch. 3.3.1.1.3 Internal radial play. 0.0011 inch. The bearings shall be fabricated and assembled 3.4.1 Bearing materials, processes and parts. 3.4.1.1 Rings. 763, Class 4

29、40C, Condition A, and shall be heat treated to a Rockweii Hardness of 58C minimum in accordance with MIL-H-6875. Inner and outer rings shall be made from stainless steel, QQ-S- 3.4.1.2 Balls, bearing. resistant (stainless) steel, QQ-S-763, Class 440C, Condition A, and shall be heat treated to a Rock

30、well Hardness of 60C minimum in accordance with AFBMA Standards for Balls, (AFBMA 10), Grade 5. 3.4.1.3 Retainers. Retainers shall be made from polyimide (DuPont SP Vespell or equivalent). 3.4.1.4 Shields. Shields shall be made from stainless steel, QQ-S-766, Class 3402, Condition A, or QQ-S-763, Cl

31、ass 301. Balls shall be made from vacuum melted corrosion 3.4.1.5 Retaining rings. 32、3.4.1.6 Gaskets. Gaskets shall be made from polytetrafluroathylene resin in accordance with ASTM-D1457. 3.4.1.7 Salvaged material. Recycled and recovered raw materials shall be used to the maxima extent possible in lieu of virgin raw material as long as these materials do not jeopardize the intended

33、 use and fully comply with all contract requirements. 3.4.1.8 Lubrication. - 3.4.1.8.1 Retainers. After the bearings have been thoroughly cleaned and dried, the retainers shall be vacuum-impregnated with the base oil used in the grease specified in MIL-G81322. # 3.4.1.8.2 Bearings. The bearings shal

34、l be lubricated with 225 plus or minus I 3.5 Assembly performance. 25 milligrams of MIL-G-81322 grease. - 3.5.1 Operating speed. shall be capable of rotation at speeds up to 45,000 revolutions per minute (rpn) without shifting of parts or damage to the rolleron. 3.5.2 Life. The rolleron wheel shall

35、be capable of continuous operation for not less than 60 hours at a speed of 45,000 rpn at the environmental tempera- tures specified in 4.2.2. The rolleron, when assembled into the wing assembly, 3.5.3 High load. five (5) minutes without damage with the rolleron wheel rotating at 40,000 + 5,000 rpn

There shall be no evidence of contamination resulting from dirty work areas, improper opening of bearing

42、pack- ages, poor washing techniques and methods or use of dirty lubricants. In addi- tion, there shall be no evidence of corrosion caused by contact of the bearings with bare fingers or through exposure of bearings to corrosive funes and mois- ture. 3.6.3 Overall. Workmanship shall be in accordance

43、with released engineering drawings and specifications. Workmanship includes the use of proper materials, processess and finishes. shall be constructed, assembld, lubricated, sealed and finished in a manner to assure compliance with all the requirements contained herein and the applicable drawings an

44、d specifications. The assembly, including all components subassemblies 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1. Responsibilitiy for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the Con- tract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified he

45、rein. Except as otherwise speci- fied in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government, reserves the right to perform any of the inspections, se

46、t forth in the specifi- cation where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements, contractor shall establish a quality assurance program complying with MIL-T- 45208.
