This standard was developed to establish minimum performance requirements for push-fit fittings; an alternative method of connecting fittings with valves and tubing on potable water distribution systems and hydronic heat systems. There ar
6、e other applications for push-fit fittings, including compressed air systems and gas piping systems. However, the performance requirements and tests in ASSE Standard #1061 were developed for fittings installed in potable water distribution systems and hydronic heat systems only. Pressurized (compres
7、sed) air, which is used for laboratory testing, contains large amounts of stored energy that could present serious safety hazards should a system fail for any reason. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety requirements prior to performing any of the tes

13、f ASME B16.18 or B16.22.4.2.5 Other types of connections shall comply with the applicable ANSI or CSA standards.4.3 Marking Instructions4.3.1 Marking of FittingsEach fitting shall have the following information marked on it where it will be visible after it has been installed:(a) Name of manufacture
14、r or trademark(b) When a fitting is not suitable for all four (4) materials, it shall be marked as follows for the materials for which they are suitable: Copper (Cu) CPVC PEX PE-RTWhen push-fit connectors are used on plumbing devices, the markings are permitted to be on the plumbing device.4.3.2 Fit
15、tings ” CTS or smaller are permitted to use a permanent label complying with the requirements of UL 969 or CSA C22.2 No. 0.15 to display the required markings.4.3.3 The markings shall be permanent.4.4 Installation InstructionsThe products installation instructions, packaging or specification sheets
16、shall include the following information:(a) Instruction to ensure that the tubing ends are cut square and are free of burrs on both the inside and outside of the tubing.(b) Instruction ensuring that there are no scratches, gouges or any form of damage on the circumference of the tubing within 1 inch
17、 (25.4 mm) of the cut end, as damage in this area may cause leakage.(c) Instruction ensuring that the tubing is pushed into the fitting fully and is engaged properly.(d) Whether or not the use of tube liners is required.(e) Any prohibitions for the products installation.(f) Maximum pressure-temperat
