16、ing This is the user-selectable, preset picture setting that produces the highest luminance picture in the home or default configuration. (See Figure 1.) Category 5e Twisted pair cable used for computer networks. Component analog video Baseband analog video interface that carries a standard or high

17、definition color video signal over three signal lines. For reference, see CEA-770.3-D. Composite analog video Baseband analog video interface that carries a standard definition color video signal over a single signal line. For reference, see SMPTE 170M for the 59.94 Hz version and ITU-R BT.470-5 for

18、 the 50 Hz version. Digital visual interface (DVI) Video interface developed by the Digital Display Working Group that is capable of carrying analogue or digital uncompressed video. Default configuration Configuration for televisions without a forced menu. (See Figure 1.) Default picture setting Out

19、-of-the-box picture setting for television sets in the home or default configuration. (See Figure 1.) CEA-2037-A 3 Forced menu Configuration selection required of the user when a television set is turned on for the first time that forces the user to choose between the home configuration and the reta

20、il configuration. (See Figure 1.) High definition multimedia interface (HDMI) Audio-visual interface that is capable of carrying uncompressed video data, compressed or uncompressed digital audio data, and other information. For reference, see HDMI specification. Home configuration Forced menu select

21、ion most likely to be chosen for home use. This configuration selection is generally named “home”, “standard”, or equivalent. (See Figure 1 and 4.2.2.) Illuminance Photometric measure of the total luminous flux incident on a surface, per unit area, expressed in lux. Luminance Photometric measure of

22、the luminous intensity per unit area of light traveling in a given direction, expressed in units of candelas per square meter (cd/m2). Main battery Power storage device capable of powering equipment such that the equipment can provide its primary functions. Neutral density filter (ND filter) Optical

23、 device that reduces the light intensity in the visible wavelength region. Overall brightest preset picture setting Either the retail picture setting or the brightest selectable preset picture setting, whichever produces the highest luminance picture. (See Figure 1.) Partial On mode A collection of

24、power sub-modes, including Standby-passive, Standby-active, low, and Standby-active, high. (See 4.1.4 to 4.1.6.) Quick start Feature that, when enabled, presents sound and picture quickly when switching from Partial On mode to On mode. Retail configuration Forced menu selection most likely to be cho

25、sen for use in a retail environment. This configuration selection is generally recommended by the manufacturer for presentation in a public space when the television set is offered for sale and might be named “retail”, “store”, “shop”, or equivalent. (See Figure 1 and 4.2.3.) Retail picture setting

26、Out-of-the-box picture setting for television sets with a forced menu in the retail configuration. (See Figure 1.) S-video Baseband analog video interface that carries a standard definition color video signal using two signal lines. For reference, see IEC 60933-5. Selectable preset picture setting T

27、V picture setting that is selectable by a user from a set of manufacturer-defined picture settings. (See Figure 1.) Television set (TV) A commercially available electronic product designed primarily for the display and reception of audio-visual signals from terrestrial, cable, satellite, Internet Pr

28、otocol TV (IPTV), or other transmission of analog and/or digital signals, consisting of a tuner/receiver and a display encased CEA-2037-A 4 in a single housing. The product usually relies upon a cathode-ray tube (CRT), liquid crystal display (LCD), plasma display, or other display device. VGA port 1

29、5-pin interface that is capable of carrying analog video. Symbols and Abbreviations 3.1ABC Automatic Brightness Control AP Access Point AV Audio-Visual BD Blu-ray Disc CEA Consumer Electronics Association CLASP Collaborative Labeling 0.1 W or better for power measurements of greater than 10 W up to

30、100 W; and 1 W or better for power measurements of greater than 100 W. In addition, the test instrument should have these following attributes: Calibration with a standard that is traceable to the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or equivalent. The sampling rate of the watt

31、-hour meter or wattmeter with averaging function shall be one measurement per second or more frequent. CEA-2037-A 9 Power measurement accuracy 5.5.2Measurements of power of 0.5 W or greater shall be made with an uncertainty of less than or equal to 2% at the 95% confidence level. Measurements of pow

32、er of less than 0.5 W shall be made with an uncertainty of less than or equal to 0.01 W at the 95% confidence level. NOTE: For more information about the determination of uncertainty of measurement, refer to IEC 62301:2011, Annex D. For loads less than 10 W, power figures shall be reported in watts

33、and rounded to the second decimal place. For loads greater than or equal to 10 W, three significant figures shall be reported. Luminance measuring device 5.5.3When directed to measure display luminance a luminance measuring device (LMD), which may be of either the contact or non-contact type, shall

34、be used. The LMD shall have an acceptance (or measuring) angle in the range of 1 to 3, inclusive. For contact LMDs, the measuring area shall have a diameter of 25 mm or more. The LMD shall have an accuracy of 2 % 2 digits of the digitally displayed value or better. Illuminance measuring instrument 5

35、.5.4When directed to illuminate one or more ABC sensors, an illuminance measuring instrument shall be used to adjust the light level to the specified value. The illuminance measuring instrument shall have an accuracy of 2 % 2 digits or better. Signal generation 5.6Audio-visual signal generating devi

36、ce 5.6.1The audio-visual signal generating device shall be capable of playing a Blu-ray Disc , shall have an HDMI output, and shall be calibrated to conform with the accuracy required in 5.5.2. Additional output types might be necessary for testing television sets that do not have HDMI inputs. The d

37、evice shall be capable of reproducing 59.94 Hz content and may need to generate 50 Hz content for testing television sets intended for use outside of the US. If connecting a particular model of audio-visual signal generating equipment to the UUT causes any settings of the UUT to change, an alternate

38、 model signal generating device shall be used during the measuring procedure. NOTE: Some video sources with HDMI outputs have been shown to lead to anomalous television power consumption readings. Two possible causes have been identified: miscommunication between source and sink, and proprietary com

39、munications between source and sink. To reduce the possibility of miscommunication, multiple models of signal generating equipment may be connected and a spot check of the power consumption may be performed with a static image. A model of signal generating equipment that produces anomalous results s

40、hould not be used. CEA-2037-A 10 To reduce the likelihood of unwanted proprietary communications, signal generating equipment from a different manufacturer than that of the UUT should be used. Video signals 5.6.2Dynamic broadcast-content video signal 5.6.2.1For stabilization and determination of On

41、mode power consumption, the dynamic broadcast-content video signal shall be used. This signal shall conform with IEC 62087:2011, subclause 11.6.1 and shall be from the associated Blu-ray Disc, titled “IEC 62087 Ed. 3.0, video content_BD, video content for IEC 62087 Ed. 3.0 on Blu-ray Disc”. Three ba

42、r video signal 5.6.2.2For determination of relative peak luminance and power factor, the three bar video signal shall be used. This signal shall conform with IEC 62087:2011, subclause 11.5.5. The three bar signal is available on the associated Blu-ray Disc, titled “IEC 62087 Ed. 3.0, video content_B

43、D, video content for IEC 62087 Ed. 3.0 on Blu-ray Disc”. Color bar video signals 5.6.2.3The Blu-ray Disc associated with IEC 62087:2011 and titled “IEC 62087 Ed. 3.0, video content_BD, video content for IEC 62087 Ed. 3.0 on Blu-ray Disc” includes a full field color bar signal as well as a SMPTE colo

44、r bar signal. These signals may be used in confirming the accuracy of 5.6.3. Accuracy of video signal levels 5.6.3Shall conform with IEC 62087:2011, subclause 11.4.12. Audio test signal(s) 5.6.4Shall conform with IEC 62087:2011, subclause 11.3. Light source for specific illuminance levels 5.6.5The l

45、ight source used for illuminating the ABC sensor to specific illuminance levels shall use a dimmable halogen lamp in a sealed reflector and shall have a diameter of 120 mm or less. The rated correlated color temperature shall be 2,800 K 300 K at its rated voltage. The front surface of the lamp shall

46、 be clear (i.e., not colored or coated with a spectrum modifying material) and may have a smooth or granular front surface. The lamp assembly shall not modify the spectrum of the halogen source, including the IR and UV bands The lamp shall be capable of providing 100 lux within the range of 70 % to

47、110 % of its rated voltage when configured as specified in 6.3.8. For luminance levels below 10 lux, a 2 stop ND filter shall be used. No ND filter shall be used for luminance levels at or above 10 lux. The ND filter shall be of the absorptive type and shall be large enough to cover the entire light

48、 acceptance area of the ABC sensor assembly with a margin of at least 5 mm on all sides. The ND filter shall have an average transmission of 25% +/- 2.5% across the visible range, which is 400 to 700 nm, without selectively absorbing light at specific wavelengths. Specific illuminance levels shall b

49、e obtained by controlling the voltage, and/or duty cycle to the above light source. CEA-2037-A 11 The model of the lamp used for illuminating the ABC sensor to specific illuminance levels shall be reported. NOTE: Some lighting controllers, such as those with SCR-based circuits, may introduce current spikes into the power source. Such controllers should be avoided or otherwise isolated from the power source for the UUT. Light source for disabling the A
