2、t to Type I, Style I and Type III, Style I of Federal Specification PPP-P-291 which is cancelled. 1. SCOPE: This commercial item description covers the requirements for singleface corrugated paperboard with backing sheet used for wrapping and cushioning. 2. CLASSIFICATION: Type I - Light Duty Type I
3、I - Heavy Duty 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: The wrapping paperboard shall be constructed in accordance with the requirements outlined herein. 3.1 The paperboard shall be fabricated fiom unbleached paper. 3.2 Basis Weight: The backing sheet shall have a minimum basis weight of 89 dmz (551bs. 24 X 36 -
4、500) and a maximum basis weight of 162 g/m(lOO lbs. 24 x 36-500) tested in accordance with TAPPI Method T-410. 3.3 Flute: The corrugating medium shall be B flute,164 flutes per meter (50 flutes per linear foot), plus or minus 3 flutes. 3.4 Adhesive: The adhesive shall be capable of holding the backi
5、ng sheet and the corrugated cushioning material intact when the material is flexed 180 degrees in any direction. 3.5 Thickness: The thickness of the combined board shall be 2.03 mm (0.08 inches) minimum, 3.30 mm (0.13 inches) maximum, tested in accordance with TAPP1 Method T41 1. Type II, Heavy
8、 duty - 345 kilopascals (50 pounds per square inch)+/- 10.6%. 3.7 Form; The paperboard, wrapping and cushioning shall be hrnished in sheet or roll form as specified in the contract or order. The sheets shall be furnished in the specified size with a tolerance of plus or minus 1/8 inch. Rolls shall b
9、e krnished in the specified width with a tolerance of plus or minus 118 inch (3.18 mm). The rolls shall contain not more than two splices and shall be 250 (76.2 meters) feet in length with a tolerance of minus 1 foot (30.5 cm), plus unlimited. 3.8 WorkmanshiD: The paperboard shall be fiee of holes,
10、tears, cuts, wrinkles, or folds and shall be fiee fiom any other defects which may adversely affect its utility or serviceabiity. 4. REGULATORY REOUIREMENTS: Certification: The contractor shall certify that the product offered shall include a minimum of 80% postconsumer recovered materials,in accord
11、ance with 40 CFR pt.250. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5. OUALFTY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS: 5.1 Contractor Certiiication : The contractor shall cem and m
12、aintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the produceis own drawings, specxcations, standards, and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of
13、 such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as maybe otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5.2 Inspection & Samliig: Suppliers are encouraged to use quality control (QC) techniques that exhibit control over their processes (e.g. (Statistical Process Control) S
14、PC techniques) as defined in American National Standards Institute (ANSI)Zl. 1,Z 1.2 and 2 1.3/ American Society for Quality Control(ASQC) B. 1, B.2 and B.3 that systematically reduce excess variations. Objective evidence shall be available that demonstrates overall measurement adequacy techniques a
15、nd controls. These techniques shall ensure quality levels equal to, or greater than, those cited in applicable technical document or,herein. End item inspectiodtesting may be used by the offeror or the Government representative, as a means to detemine the effectiveness of the in process quality cont

17、ot by lot sampling for inspectiodtest shall be required. Sampling shall be in accordance with h (ANSI)/(ASQC) Z 1.4. An inspection lot shall consist of all like items submitted for inspection at one time. The sample unit shall be one roll or one sheet. The inspection level shall be S-2 with an AQL o
18、f 4% defective for visual, dimensional and workmanship. The supplier must provide objective evidence (tests and inspection records) that the presented material meets the requirements of the sampling plan as indicated above. 5.3 Testing: The component material (backing sheet) shall be tested for the
19、basis weight in accordance with TAPPI T-410. Since the backing sheet is joined together to form the end product and cannot be separated for end item testing, test results from each lot of material may be accepted from the manufcturer for this requirement. 6. PACKAGING, PACKING. LABELING, MARKING. AN
20、D PALLETIZATION: Packaging, packing, labeling, marking and, palletization shall be as specified in the contract or order. 7.
